hello
I played some computer games last night.
I put on ‘The Forest’. My man was standing by a fire in the early hours. The sun came up and I headed out to the beach / coastal tundra. When I got to the beach there were two humanzees / cannibals. They attacked me and dragged me to an underground cave. I woke up hanging upside down. I was able to cut the rope and climb out of the cave. In the village above the cave there was a naked female humanzee cannibal. I attacked her. I … chopped her body up … I dismembered it and put her legs and head in my backpack.
Three male humanzee / cannibals appeared a minute or so after that ... They attacked and killed me. I’d survived three days …

I also played Dragon Age - Inquisition. I played it for about half an hour. The game Baldurs Gate 3 could have been.
I don’t know …
My man looks like a cross between Brad Pitt and Adrian from ‘Bread’. He’s actually an elf so has pointy ears too, and a grey bob haircut. I think maybe I missed the body type selection because he’s really thin and awkward looking - a bit like 1990s Emo Philips.
Not much going on. Well lots going on. A dramatic tutorial event. Let me be. I just want to go and look in high fantasy drawers and cupboards.

spent yesterday removing the carb and petrol tank from my mower, as it had given up on life mid-way through a mow. New parts delivered by one of JB’s little helpers, so today I’ll be reassembling and probably breaking things further.

Was I wrong to attack the female humanzee cannibal? Her body language was very threatening. Maybe she attacked me first? I can’t recall. It was the heat of the moment. Is that ever a defence?

I mean … looking around this village … They’d been up to some bad business. The other passengers from the plane I’d been in had been strung up or mutilated in horrible ways. I give myself the right to dismember the monsters that did it.

One of my in-laws was once on jury duty with Adrian from Bread. Apparently he was quite nice. I don't think the case strayed into the humazee/mutilation realm though.

I electrocuted a number of wraiths in Dragon Age too. Not sure what the moral implications of that are / were. In a virtual sense. Does a virtual wraith have virtual thoughts and feelings? Or are they just mechanistic? I wouldn’t want to cast them as unfeeling automatons without spirit, because in a sense, as wraiths, they’re all spirit.
What a can of worms.

The protagonist of The Forest is called Eric LeBlanc. Eric = America; LeBlanc = 'the white'. He is fighting subhumans who want to destroy him. Is this game definitely not a thinly veiled allegory of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory? The very thought has put me right off my quinoa and yoghurt.

I’m killing time to be honest. I have to go to the GP surgery to get a 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitted.
Should I be working until I go out? I’m not sure. A part of me thinks ‘yes?’ but I’ve just been lying on the bed, tapping on the phone and thinking about virtual humanzee murder.

I've got a pre operation appt coming up for a total knee replacement. Every time I visit a hospital and they take my blood pressure it's high because I don't like hospitals. My GP has upped my blood pressure tablets from today to hopefully keep my blood pressure stable when I have my pre op.

I had a pre op last year and blood pressure showed as high. Had to attend GP for more checks of blood pressure. The surgery should have told the hospital it was fine to commence my surgery. They didn't do this so I waited 4 months and my pre op expired. So six months later I'm starting the whole process again. This time I'm keeping my eye on the ball and making sure every one that needs to speak with each other does. Mean time my knees worsen and getting around is a pain.

My mum has had two new knees. Apparently it is quite painful for a while afterwards.
But they give you the good drugs. I went to the hospital after the first one and she was as high as Crankcaller.
On the plus side the operations are pretty good. She walks fine now, Up to about 7 miles.
