Whilst shopping I found the Pepperami Firesticks, which I haven't seen for years.
I remembered they were hot and a nice chilli replacement if cut up small, I remembered they were too hot for me, strangely I forgot that memory straight away, I am glad that the hours of drinking alcohol today has numbed my mouth.
I'm sure one of the Alpha males here would scoff.

People are allowed different tolerance of hot food.
I used a scotch bonnet and black pepper sauce last night. The effect was interesting. It took me quite a while to eat my dinner and I had plenty of liquids with it.
On the basis that you aren't truly enjoying food unless it is so spicy it hurts it was the best meal I've made for ages.
I think older culturally western people, especially the retired, often have much less tolerance for spicy food.
It comes from being brought up in a time when curry sauce on chips was exotically dangerous and garlic was the work of the devil.
So I do have some sympathy.

My car insurance quote has gone up more than 50%.
This is displeasing.
I haven't changed anything, not made any claims, no motoring offences.
I have compared it and all the quotes are very similar.
It was quite cheap last year, but a 50%+ rise is still rude.
Pah.

Mine last year was £283.56 and this year £341.75 This includes RAC cover. Have been with NFU for the last 3 years as I was led to believe they keep their quotes stable year on year and give a mutual bonus for staying with them. I got a quote for home insurance from them that was for a ridiculous amount compared to what I pay. But for car insurance they don't seem to do heavy increases.

We had similar-ish with our home insurance (M&S) - renewal quote up 35%.
