This above all: to thine own self beetroot And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Stxdpr's job sounds rough.
I like beets. Also much more environmentally friendly than avocado.

And we can stop our whoring And pull the smiles inside And light it up forever And never go to sleep My best un-beetroot brother This isn't all I see

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of beetroot men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the vegetable aisle, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of cheese & onion crispbakes.
True dat.

Morning
Got a sore throat. Screw you, 2016!
Fillums. Started watching Anaconda - absolutely terrible, got bored after 10 mins and turned it off, 0*. So instead watched The Patriot starring Mel Gibson. Like an American version of Braveheart. Superb, 5*.
Games, none.
Tea, left over cottage pie. There's still another portion in the fridge but I don't think I can face it 3 nights in a row.
OTTM, no.

Being a fully functioning mature sensible responsible adult human being, the car I own has an MOT and vehicle tax.
Walking through town is quite scary It's not very sensible either A friend of a friend he got beet on He looked the wrong way at a policeman

Shenguin has been listening to Johnny Cash and The Kaiser Chiefs I see. He is remarkably up to date with his cultural references.
Just needs a Nick Cave quote for the hat trick.

He deserved it.

I was at work today. It was ok. I had a meeting at the end of the day with someone I had pledged to meet and ‘raise issues’ with. We met and I didn’t raise issues. It was the kind of odd meeting where I imagine … after I left the room the other person thought ‘What was that about?’
I got a phonecall when I got back to my desk. It was a doctor telling me I had Hepatitis C. What the hell?
I was fine until he commented that I sounded very well, then said it it again a couple of moments later, but in a kind of mystified way. He then said another doctor was going to ring tomorrow because she was ‘a bit worried about me’. I mean he said ‘a bit worried about you’, but … well you know….
The thing is - I have no idea how I got it. The most likely contender (to my mind) seems to be an operation I had in 1985. But I’ve given blood since then and no issues came up.
Ah man …..

1985 is almost 40 years ago. Sounds unlikely but I’m no expert.

It explains the liver I suppose. Hopefully the docs will have a plan of action. Sorry Lazybones.

I think it will be ok. I’ve just no idea how I got it. Intravenous drug use seems to be one of the biggest risk factors. I have never intravenously taken a drug.
It can lie fairly dormant for years apparently.
