Anyone else remember when the guardian games section used to be about game reviews and other things that matter? Now it’s all gaming addictions and mobile phones in schools.

Hello.
TV. More Parks&Rec S2. It's Funny now.
Second last episode of the bridge.
Games. Wee side mission in the division and started the prison break on GTA with my chum and two randoms. Setups went ok. didn't have time to do the finale. Hopefully tonight.
Lunch. Currently making a vat of lentil soup. Ideal for the impending heatwave.
Steam sale eh?
So.. buy games to run on a gaming laptop I may or may not be able to afford to buy later in the year as they're cheap?

I am deeply grateful for Shenguin's willingness to sacrifice his Saturday to go to this there London for this down with that sort of thing thing on our behalf.
Meanwhile I had a satisfactory Saturday lie-in. The cat likes her new bed so much that for the first time in many years she hasn't woken me up at some ungodly hour to complain about the lack of service. Success.
No games, just more Roosevelts.
Today I've got to help a student write a lengthy response to a stupid assessment by a stupid colleague who's always been very good at causing unnecessary trouble for students. There goes my weekend. Bastard.
I don't think that I will be able to take in any football because of this, but since my team is stuffed with Belgians and Germans it's crunch time today. Time to get away from the last position and leave someone else in the dust.

In recent times I have walked past both Michael Gove and the guy out of Snow Patrol in the street, and failed even to mutter something under my breath, far less put in a well deserved reducer on their shins.

The Snow Patrol one was actually yesterday. He was receiving an honorary degree at a graduation ceremony I attended, where a member of my family was graduating with a proper degree. They had to hold up the already lengthy proceedings because when they were about to present him they discovered he'd gone to the loo. Then, adding insult to injury, the university choir performed a chamber music version of one of his godawful songs. I was Phil Brown angry.
