I am not in pre-mod on the G. Because I am not a bad person. And because I did not attack the moderators. Sheep, people were put in premod for nothing else than turning up. I asked "what happened here?" on the pokemon article and was immediately put in pre-mod

Posting deliberately off topic messages in a scenario where the mods had gone fundamentalist seems likely to end one way.

On the fun filter question: there's no filter, I could watch porn if I wanted. Probably would have consequences, though

Wednesday Question: How many people are able to access this forum via their work PC? Does it fall victim of your company's fun filter? I can access via the work PC. Where or not they're just stockpiling evidence at this point is a worry. if they do try anything, just point out that "Everything which is not forbidden is allowed" is a constitutional principle of English law.

Wednesday Question: How many people are able to access this forum via their work PC? Does it fall victim of your company's fun filter? I've not tried to access from my work machine. My employer has a really aggressive fun filter and a strict policy of no Internet chat room action from work computers. They are the best to work for. 4*s.

Questioning the moderation policies is chapter two in how to get banned.

Hello, Just to state the obvious, the weather is complete shite. It's lovely here. I'm at the seaside, enjoying the sun.

Posting deliberately off topic messages in a scenario where the mods had gone fundamentalist seems likely to end one way. That's the thing... We've discussed this before, and it's not "the mods" going fundamentalist. It was ONE mod. Who went on to reverse their colleagues' decision from weeks ago and deleted a bunch of stuff from everyone's comment history. Those in premod were able to get completely innocuous, on topic comments through, only to find them deleted hours later.

It seems as though Butthead boy has gone out for lunch.
Thank the gods for a period of respite.

What I'm trying to say is a comment section that is moderated by people with largely divergent interpretation of the rules is bound to fail because people are inevitably beginning to question moderation issues as they no longer understand what is and isn't permitted.

Dinocity So what did you post under my comment that immediately got deleted? I commented on the Guardian’s hardline stance against games and other things that matter. I also observed how video games are for children and the mentally feeble, referring to an anecdote about the time I bought a motorbike and travelled the country instead of playing video games.

How do you know it was only one moderator?
It was clear that 'off topic' posts were being removed. It is quite common for the moderator(s) to take a closer look at comments on an article once it attracts their attention. Some of the comments I saw that were removed looked like teasing the moderators. The G reacts really badly to that. It always has done. It's the quickest way to get put on the naughty step.
What the moderator saw was that once a few irrelevant comments were removed a load of people piled in to cause further trouble. And moved from article to article to do so. I know they completely misunderstood the situation, but I can see why they escalated once they had started.
It was clearly going to end badly.

I'm by no means a mod sympathiser.
I don't like the Who and I think Paul Weller is mostly* an arse. Some of The Jam songs were pretty good.
* entirely
What I would say is it is a good idea particularly when posting on possibly sensitive articles to consider the likely reaction of the moderators to the post before hitting post.
The G has become ultra sensitive since it started aiming more at US based audiences. At one time you could post all sorts of horrible stuff. So long as it wasn't facts followed by opinions about Ken Bates.

You’re all absolutely terrible people and none of you deserve a platform. Deal with it.

Hi all, long time lurker. On the subject of getting modded, it appears that after a few Friday night drinks, and faced with a long and boring train journey, the injustice of the Chatterboxer's plight finally managed to lure me out into the open.
I have a rather foggy memory of doing this, and I'm not hugely proud* as it's ultimately a very unhelpful comment, but I left the following comment on the Pokémon review:
"My favourite Pokémon (in no particular order, and not including Pikachu, obvs) are:
Bulbasaur Rattata Igglypuff Nidoran Golbat Bellsprout Alakazam Corsola Kadabra Cloyster Hypno Articuno Trubbish Tirtouga Empoleon Raticate Beedrill Oddish Xatu Yanma Oshawott Ursaring Tentacruel Weezing Anorith Terrakion Sawsbuck"
It's still up the last I checked. So it seems that FRANK may not like you questioning his methods, but he doesn't bother reading acrostics.
*I am maybe a bit proud. I mean, it took effing aaages!

If my work had any sort of fun filter I would have known about it the first time I discovered the chatterbox, and clicked on an innocuous looking link....
