I've decided to get into cryptic crosswords so I've got something to peer at over my varifocals. It's going pretty well so far, 5 clues got in only 3 hours. The Guardian's new Quick Cryptic series on Sarurdays is very good as a relatively gentle introduction. www.theguardian.com/crosswords/quick-cryptic/6#comment-167573574Will check it out, thanks. Am motoring through Friday's G crossword first. Got 6 right now, hell of a buzz.

A buzz? You'll be taking up triathlons next. Weirdo.

Talking of Dead Man's Shoes, I was in Matlock recently. Hasn’t changed has it?

I watched Dead Man’s Shoes last night. I like it a lot but think the scene at the end, recounted by the last gang member is … unbelievable …
Gahhh. Can’t talk about it because Crank hasn’t seen it.
I fell asleep after Dead Man’s Shoes. Woke up on the sofa at 5am. Went to bed at 6am. The good life.

It's on '4 on demand'.
Will watch this week. Need to be on the commute. Sounds too grim for the PM to want to watch it.

Will check it out, thanks. Am motoring through Friday's G crossword first. Got 6 right now, hell of a buzz. The !ast time i did a cryptic crossword I completed one Shenguin had failed at. To be fair he'd done pretty well. There was only one answer to go. It took me about 3 seconds to get it. Immensely satisfying. Not just getting the answer, but completig something someone else waa struggling with immediately. I retired immediately from the Cryptic as my usual success rate of 1-2 answers seemed no longer valid.

I would quite like to do a triathlon as a matter of fact, but I can't be arsed.

No such thing as a triathlon. Only a doathlon or a do notathlon.
I didn't want it tolook like a donutathlon which is something else (jam filled, ring, iced)

Angryman used to do triathlons. A big fan of the Brownlees. I think he wasn't bad at them. Competed for England amateurs a bit Though the costs of competing very much favoured all the gear, no idea competitors. You had to pay for travel including bike so it wasn't a cheap sport.

ROAAAAARRRRRRRR!
I too watched Dead Mans shoes last night. No further comments so as not to spoil it.
Now watching game 1 of 3 in todays footy-fest. Marvellous.
OTTM, ate two burgers for lunch. Not the best idea. I think I may have an afternoon nap so I'm refreshed for Sir Harold and Lord Ivan give those pesky Serbs a jolly good beasting for King Charles.

Sir Gareth will be getting his lads well and truly woked up for the big match. A few bowls of muesli, a bit of yoga and a chat about the latest Judith Butler book will have them pumped to face the Serbs.

I’ve heard some of the chanting at the Euros and it seems a group of Jeremy Corbyn supporters have infiltrated the crowd.
This does not augur well for England.

Made lentil soup for lunch.
Waiting on some banana and peanut butter flapjacks to come out the oven, then making Mince'n'Totties for dinner.
All ideal for mid fucking June.
The child has gone to a pals, the PM has gone swimming.
Wet out.

Just watched my second team, Holland, snatch victory with a late winner by the big lad. Shame Koeman is manager. His cheating and clear bribery of the officials in the qualifier in 1993 cost us certain glory at USA 94.
