I'd be looking at employees of Holiday Inn's rivals. Anyone working for Travelodge or Premier Inn has to be a big suspect.

Nice header. I do feel a bit like rampaging. Lots of work emails and one work crises or another to steer through. Mondays eh?
RIP Graham Thorpe. Heck of a start to the week.

Outwith "Jokes" and comments I heard as a kid, the first proper racist act I ever witnessed was when I was about 15.
On the train back from Glasgow to Greenock and there was an Asian guy snoozing across from me.
When the train stopped at Bishopton, someone who had got off tapped loudly on the window. The Asian lad looked out and the guy spat on the window. I was appalled and shocked. The guy obviously used to it just went back to sleep.
There will always be racism, and it seemed to be that modern life had pushed it to the back. You couldn't say these things in public anymore. Now, now it seems it's a free for all. Yes, it's still a minority - but how much so?
Being a bit racist. Setting fire to a hotel with people in it? Fucks sake.
I get people are poor, I get people are struggling, but my god.

Anti Catholic stuff, that was the proper trendy abuse in those days.
And for all the Green Brigade might shout about Palestine etc, we all remember Mark Hately getting bananas thrown at him from the Celtic crowd.
That's the bell for double maths, gotta go.

I think you mean Mark Walters. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Hateleyen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_WaltersEasy to confuse them. If you are a daft racist.

Football could be pretty awful in the 1980s. There was quite a lot of racist abuse. Fortunately we signed Howard Gayle and Noel Blake in the early 1980s so by the time I was old enough to really be aware of it the worst had gone at Blues. Though I am aware that Cyrille Regis & WBA got the rough end of it more than once. There was a guy who used to sell NF stuff outside games at one time. I was disappointed when we went to Leicester in 1998 and there was a significant proportion of the away contingent singing a racist chant about Leicester. That was very much a one-off. But still appalling.

It would have been mullets thrown at Hateley, and rightly so.
I remember being in a cup final crowd where there were racist chants aimed at Dale Gordon in the early 90s, but haven't heard anything like that in any football crowd I've been in for 30 odd years. Interesting how suddenly it became unacceptable.

The misogyny, however, is still pretty brazen and unpleasant.

There is a riot scheduled for 7pm tonight at the Plymouth Guildhall. Bovver boots mandatory.
However, if you are sandal wearing fun-lover, please arrive an hour before.
I will not be able to be there as I have business to attend to on the other side of town tonight.

The Plymouth lot should all get down to the Scouts hut for an evening of Warhammer 40k. Thatβll sort out their anger issues.

I'm enjoying Fortnite. You've probably not heard of it.
I was waiting for Spidey 2 to drop in price at CEX as I have a Β£30 voucher. It's gone back again by Β£2. Pah.
