It's hot.
I should have known that I couldn't leave you lot alone for a whole morning.
I re-organised my fantasy football team, but I made a bit of a Horlicks of it. I hadn't played my Wildcard yet, but I didn't know that the option only becomes available once one has confirmed all the transfers. So I only did the bare minimum and was prepared to put up with the penalty points. Then I realised I could use it, but I couldn't go back to rectify decisions I had to make due to a lack of budget.
tldr: I'm really bad at this Fantasy Football thingy.

To relive a few days ago I'm drinking cider. The carlsberg was gassy pisswater.
Had a lovely curry and some pizza as well. Queen on in an hour or so.

There's football on the telly. Yes, I think it's Tent Hen's fantasy team against Belgium.

You all can make of this what you want, started growing edible stuff in the garden and the Rocket is superb, I also have to say that I think the whole "organic" thing is a con, they do use pesticides only naturally occurring ones, like nicotine.
Apologies, I've been holding that in for a long time and there is a certain catharsis to say this in a place that is vaguely related to the other place

Let it out bro, let it all out.

I have white fly on my courgettes. Is that a dish? No, it's an infestation. I am treating it with a spray made up of a mixture of lemon washing up liquid, water and rapeseed oil.

Isn't this "getting the excuse in early"? A time-honoured football tradition. Considering what's going on atm, I'm looking forward to the Brazilian excuses. "How were we supposed to stop a team running on frites and mayo??!"

I now have a griefhole instead of a house, garden and desultory interactions with a human. On the plus side, I don't have to eat fucking courgette for every meal between now and the end of September. Frankly, I think this is, on balance, a massive improvement.
What I'm saying is, white fly deserve to live and need to eat; leave the courgettes for them. Or grow yellow courgettes, as I've found them to be more pest resistant.
Frankly, rocket, tomatoes, chilies, raspberries and kale are all nicer and more rewarding to grow.
Edit, "frankly" is an (unnecessary) adverb, not a plant. Terrible phrasing, frankly.

We are also growing tomatoes (Roma and a beefsteak variety I can't remember), chillies (scotch bonnet and birds eye) basil, chives, strawberries, blackberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants as well as the courgettes and marrow.

I always preferred growing bushy cherry-type tomatoes (I think it was pomodorino(?) F1 mostly) as they produce well, don't require pinching of side shoots, and have an excellent taste.

The Roma tomatoes are a plum variety. I was given a couple of plants a few years ago and for the past two years I have harvested the seeds and grown them from scratch.
However I think I was a little late in starting them this year so am not sure how good a harvest we'll get.

I hear that Neymar is taking up gardening, too. He used to be a keen diver as well as a talented amateur actor, but it wasn't paying off in the end.
