It's my birthday. One year closer to death. Did you get a ring of power as a birthday gift?

Dirty Barry has been and gone sans Sexbox. He has discovered that his TV does not have an HDMI socket. What.a.World.
Says he we will pop around during the week for a 'yap'.
I will show him 4K. *sniggers*

How old is his TV? I think almost all TVs made since about 2006 have had HDMI . There might have been a few cheap models up until about 2010.
He could get an HDMI to scart converter . Also RGB film for the TV so it can do an approximation of colour.

I don't know about about his TV, never been in his flat. I suspect bad things happen in there, hence 'Dirty Barry'.
Come to think of it, I do have a spare 32" HDTV knocking about in Tids Towers (in the cupboard), but I won't tell him about that.

Went for a drive this morning to charge up the car battery. Passed a turning with one of these. Not sure I've seen one before.

If it becomes compulsory to travel by horse and cart I'm not sure I've got room for keeping a horse.

"Ever since I moved to the UK in 2017, I’ve felt that the British pint is simply too big to comfortably enjoy."
Bloody foreigners coming over here messing with our weights and measures. Boris will sort them!

The original reporting was less than honest. Firstly it was in 13 pubs only. It led to a 5% fall in custom and a 10% fall in beer sales. If you account for the ex-customers who just left it's actually a 5% fall in sales. 95% of the customers drank 90% of the beer. It would be interesting to know what the missing 8% did. I suspect they went to other pubs and did not change consumption habits. Also pubs are struggling for income. The 12 pubs only participated because they were paid for the lost sales. I do not object to pubs offering a wider range of sizes. I would object to reduced glass sizes.

I feel like The Guardian has it in for … ‘the booze’. Too much booze can be bad, mkay. But a little … just a taste - a few drinks - is a healthy thing. Sort of. Good for the life. I agree. People going 'sober' is the new Veganism. Can you not drink booze if you don't tell folk you don't drink booze? I have less issues with cracking down on nicotine than I do with booze tbh. Both cause health problems and lots of people have problems giving them up. If booze was discovered now it wouldn't be legalised. But *I* don't have a problem with alcohol. I appreciate many people do and as a society yada yada, and I don't know where this rambling bullshit is going other than to say I want some drugs.

Shenguin has a problem with sobriety, not with booze.

My neighbour, let's call him 'Billy' as that's his name, did some work in his garden. He's always doing work in his garden. I've met his wife and I'd try to be out the house as much as possible if I was married to her, but he did some drainage work. Good for him.
I don't know what happening, but he's repeatedly filling a wheelie bin with water from said drainage pipe which he's pouring into a drain in the street.
I'm hoping other folk in the cul-de-sac are seeing this, as when the drain needs dug up due to the probable silt from his fucking garden I want folk to know it was him.

"E could 'a drawed me off a pint,' grumbled the old man as he settled down behind a glass. 'A 'alf litre ain't enough. It don't satisfy. And a 'ole litre's too much. It starts my bladder running. Let alone the price.'
Wise words
