On these dark mornings when you can't see out my PM goes out through the dog flap for his morning pee. When he comes back in I stroke him to see if he's wet and therefore raining. How wet he is indicates how hard it is raining.

This morning he was only slightly damp so must be drizzle.

Hello
I am having a terrible time at work. A combination of staff shortage, staff complaints, meetings, a busy time of year…
I think that covers it.
Actually no - there are desk moves and the outer machinations of this one colleague stalking the periphery of my life.
There’s the getting up early too. And a feeling of estrangement from the wider institution I work in. I went to a training session yesterday that I thought would be on interpersonal mediation. It was actually training for telling people about interpersonal mediation. Three hours.
I’m going into work today and I don’t know where a I’m going to sit. But that’s because I’ve planned myself out of a seat. The office has lost desks because people are only in two days a week, so everyone’s having to desk-share. The thing is that I’m in five days a week. Ideally I would have the one desk. In any case, within the time I had to conjure up a new desk plan, the Tetris game solution I conjured up has meant me being in two days on paper and looking for a spare desk on other days. I think I need a new solution.

I think the new Schofield content looks good.
Left on an island with a handful of cameras, allowing him to … ’confront the challenges of total isolation, the forces of nature …’
A Channel 5 spokesperson says Schofield will be battling his own mind on the island as he explores his own controversial story.

Lazybones, replace your work mouse with either a track ball or an ergonomic mouse. No fucker wants to use them and they leave your desk alone. An American ANSI keyboard instead of a UK ISO one is the next part of that passive aggressive war if someone doesn't take the hint.
We're about to have a desk reorganisation as well.

Schofield’s Beach That's fine, but why does it have to filmed? Why is the beach unmined?

I'm still undecided about the sync box, could be a real game changer.

"There’s the getting up early too"
I need to start going to bed earlier on work days. When I'm WFH I get up at 6.55, but when in the office I need to get up at 6.30. Going to bed after midnight is a young man's game. YouTube can wait.

I'm still undecided about the sync box, could be a real game changer. I'm not totally sold on the idea. I wonder if I'd find it irritating after a while.

What is a Sync Box?

It's where all the Boxers sync their rhythms.

Apparently I need to buy lights and a "Hue Bridge" too. And stock is really limited. And lots of people reporting problems with getting the thing to work.

Coming to a Twitch stream near you soon. Some wee lassie in a crop top in a purple room.

French keyboard is what Lazybones needs. The keys are in a different, but similar order. The top row starts AZERY I had to use one in a VW garage in France a few years ago. My dad knocked the wing mirror off his car and we had to get a new one. We had a bit of difficulty ordering it and I had to put something through translate then type it in French. The keyboard was impossible to use. Too close and too far from a UK keyboard. It did work out ok. €300 though. which is about the same price as the UK. It would take ages to get used to, but well worth the effort to piss everyone else off.

Any one used Plex ?

Post by crankcaller on Sept 26, 2024 9:11:08 GMT
Yeah. I've got a Plex server. It streams to our apple TV and also to my phone on the train.
{Edit} Historically I had one in the house that my stuff was on running on a Raspberry pi. I still have the pi and media content in it. The Plex server though runs on a seedbox and streams over the internet. Saves me downloading stuff I'm only going to watch once.

Twitter is such a cesspool.
Tapped the trending 'Boris' hashtag and scrolled down. Oh great, an auto play video of some guy sucking his own cock.
I mean, whatever gets you through the night and all that, but fucks sake.
