Morning all.
Carblog: had four new tyres fitted at the end of August. Front-left one now has a slow-puncture. Took it to Texaco last night to reinflate it, as was down to 20psi from 36. Other front tyre at 30, and both rears at 32. Now I’m questioning the fitting of these boots. Will have to get it booked in for a check, as I’m driving to Plymouth in a couple of weeks and want some reassurance around my wheels.
Workblog: one toilet stall out of four is out of order. Also, may need to work additional days in the office to make up for missing days next week. Gah.
TVblog: The Expanse. Miller’s back!

Marking a toilet stall as out of order so no-one else uses it? Cunning.

Just watched an Alan Partridge clip I'd never seen before "cholesterol.. Scottish people eat it" It Did amuse.
Played a wee bit of the demo of Rise of The Ronin last night. Seems decent enough with nice swordplay.
We watched more of Nobody Wants This and I finished S1 of Halt & Catch Fire when the pm went to bed.
WFH.

Don't drive into potholes/nails If you go to Kwik Fit they might be able to repair the tyre. At the very least they will check it for free. Tyres are generally pretty good. It's annoying if a new one gets damaged.

Fancy beef stew and dumplings for dinner. Found a packet of Atora vegetable suet in the cupboard best before April 2023. Not to bad I thought but then saw that the packet says once opened refrigerate and use within six weeks. So now I'm not so sure. I've never refrigerated suet and certainly not used within six weeks. Is this a new thing forced upon us by H&S.

Met with a friend for lunch yesterday who's bought an imported Japanese car. It talks to you in Japanese. She's assuming it says hello and have a safe journey but without learning Japanese she won't know. The satnav is all in Japanese as well. She thinks she's found a garage that will change the software to English speaking. I now want a car that speaks to me in Japanese.

Morning
Sat in the barbers waiting my turn. Can't decide between Flat-top with number one back and sides, or spiky on top with a perm at the back. Decisions decisions.
OTTM, two days of triple bean chilli have really played havoc with my gas production.
Edit : FFS! One guy, ONE GUY, in front of me in the barbers is only having the full works, haircut, beard trim, why god, WHHHYYYYYYY??!!?

Not to bad I thought but then saw that the packet says once opened refrigerate and use within six weeks. So now I'm not so sure. I've never refrigerated suet and certainly not used within six weeks. Is this a new thing forced upon us by H&S. It'll be fine. It really means keep for several years, and don't bother putting it in the fridge. I fed dumplings made with Atora vegetable suet to myself, a mammal and two children who aren't mine last week, and I am still alive and I didn't notice anyone else dying. The pack had been open at least six months without being in the fridge. In other not-news, it is still the case that my liking for crumpets is greater than my disliking for mild indigestion. This is one of the most constant things about my personality. Probably my defining characteristic. In other not-news, amipal, just fill the tyre up and keep an eye on it. It might not happen again, sometimes tyres stop losing air. Or you might be hit by a meteorite, killing you and destroying the car, in which case you'll thank me and be glad you didn't waste any more time needlessly worrying about a tyre that was going to be destroyed anyway.

Back in march my tyre valves were telling me they were deflated which usually happens when the weather changes from hot to cold. As I had a 5 hour motorway trip I checked them and only 18psi. After an hour they were telling me they were deflated again. Survived the journey and the return 5 hours on very low pressure. The tyre centre told me they were leaking around the rims. Deflated them, cleaned rims and inflated, no problems since. The valves at one time told me I had a puncture and to stop driving. Called the RAC and they were only slightly under pressure and not a problem. So now I ignore the valves as they obviously lie to me and hence driving with only 18psi. They survived the kick the tyre to check inflation test every time.

How much air to tyres need anyway? Couldn't they just work a bit harder, and work with less?

Speak of the Devil. My niece has just texted me to say that she has, 'just randomly bought a new car and do I want the Subaru back?'
No, no I do not.
She'll probably just scrap it for chump-change. Kids eh?
