Lovely snow here.
A couple of inches on the car and in the trees. The ground is mostly wet though, so a bit disappointing.
I have declared snow day. 
But I have to work through it. At least for a while

Not received any postcards. I leave one stick upstairs and one stick downstairs. The third stick I use to climb the stairs. When I reach the top I then have 2 crutches to use. When I arrive back downstairs using a crutch I again have 2 crutches to get about on.
Any sightings of a crazie heading for Tebay going down the motorway the wrong way on crutches, that'll be me.

Dragon Age Veilguard continued

It's a weird game.
On the one hand I don't like it at all. They have taken all the good stuff about the earlier games and put it in the bin.
There's no (psuedo)-freedom in the game. It's all been go here do that in this order. Also I don't like the way the narrative is controlled. It feels very heavy handed. 
I'd like a game that is much less directed. Where I can do what I want when I want within the parameters of the game as a whole, not an RPG on rails.
The fighting is pretty awful as well. It's really been dumbed down. I can't control my party at all. Say to focus on one particular enemy. So I can't choose to wipe out the minions first in a boss fight or to ignore the minions. Or target spellcasters first.
There is no weight to the fighting either. The different weapons don't have any feel to them.
Aldo I've found two more sets of hints I had to turn off (That's four in total). I absolutely hate a game pausing to introduce some stupid fucking mechanic I won't even use. It completely breaks the immersion especially in a fight as if the fighting wasn't bad enough anyway.. Plus I fucking told it I had played loads of games. I don't want to be treated like an idiot. Let me fuck up and work out things for myself.

I also don't like the rigid classes. In the first two games you could do what you wanted, with the sole exception that dwarf couldn't use magic. Now you are stuck with your class. Except that the dwarf companion can use magic. It's just a bizarre change. 

I've lost a companion as well. it was a party of four in the earlier games. Down to three. It seems a bit careless. 

But
The game is quite shiny. I'm mostly actually enjoying it despite all the annoyances. 
There is a reasonable chance I'll complete it.
