I am kind of tempted by No Mans Sky now it's out on the Xbox, anyone here got it? I've had it since launch on the PC and it was fun if limited, but then I wasn't caught with the hype so had no preconceived notions about it. They've done a lot of work since then and from the sound of it the game is now what it should have been at launch. There's another big update today

I haven’t slept probably in days. Care to join me in a belt of scotch?

doing a full season FF is not at all worth it, it's always the nerds and the lonely who flourish at it.
This is not true. I am mostly terrible at fantasy football.
I suspect actually going to games is a big impediment. Watching Jeff Stelling every Saturday is probably much more helpful.

I am kind of tempted by No Mans Sky now it's out on the Xbox, anyone here got it? I have it on PS4 and like it a lot. It has been improved incrementally since launch but today's NEXT update is massive and, by all accounts, delivers on the games initial promise. I can't wait to get back to it.

It actually rained for about half an hour here last night. I had to restrain myself from staggering outside and genuflecting to the sky like a hammered Gene Kelly.

Morning.
Yes, the nocturnal languishing is bad. Yesterday I got a haircut, which is a bit of a help in this heat as I no longer resemble a woolly mammoth.
Then I needed to take care of the car. Since it's parked under a tree, it's always been a problem keeping it clean, with a gaggle of magpies bombarding it with their droppings. But now the tree itself is spraying sticky sap everywhere, and, like every other street tree I've seen, is shedding loads of leaves due to heat stress. We could have easily taken the car on a military exercise and it would have been perfectly camouflaged.
Adding to this problem was the fact that our nearby petrol station had opted to get rid of their car wash facilities in favour of a M&S Food store. So had to go a lot further away to find a jetwash that did the job. As I was spraying the car with water, two blokes dressed in salwar kameezes walked past and asked me whether I needed any sandpaper for the job. Gotta love the Brummie sense of humour.
Again I only got 20 minutes or so for games, during which I managed to find all treasure chests in the Octopath dungeon. Watched more of The Crown, but every time Matt Smith as Prince Philip is on screen he sounds like Dr Who, not Prince Philip. It's a bit disorienting.

A poodling around simulator, which seems worth £1.50 of anyone's money: Submerged

A poodling around simulator, which seems worth £1.50 of anyone's money: Submerged Looks good. I like the fact that you can buy the game for £1.49 and the OST separately for 69p = £2.18 for the two or, both together for £2.29

Morning everyone!
My usual diet of coffee and empire biscuits for breakfast has been replaced by green tea and a banana as I try and shift 8 stone in 8 days before I holiday next week. I'll maybe get an article in OK magazine for my efforts.
No games last night, but there's a Final Fantasy X void that's been left that I really want to fill, so I might (MIGHT) go back and do all the side quests. Could restart and collect all the Al Bhed primers. What is going on with my life?

Do X-2, you won't regret it

Conchord said: Local multiplayer against bots. That's always fun. Start them on easy and slowly turn it up. On your own or with a bot or two helping you. Hi, Games: couple of deliveries on GTA but more of an excuse to chat to my pal. The nightclub DLC starts today so I'll maybe watch some of that at lunchtime. TV. More at of Parcs&Rec S4 and a glass of wine. Lots of rain yesterday. Jealous much?

For some reason I've been invited by people from my old job to join their Telegraph fantasy football league, so any advice from the CB hive mind would be most appreciated. Don’t do it. I got involved in the Daily Telegraph World Cup one. I was reticent because the paper’s quite right wing, but I assented ... Anyway the site wouldn’t accept my Hotmail email address so I was forced to use my work one. Then they started sending me Telegraph emails. I had to log in to cancel them and - boom - my manager was behind me, with me on the Telegraph website. A bad business.

Maybe she now thinks that, at the weekend, I put on a blazer and a pair of aviator sunglasses, then drive down the road to pick up a copy of GQ magazine.

Most likely it was Shenguin preparing more truth bombs about thinning hair.

My worst work/internet experience was when a friend emailed me in high dudgeon to complain that something he had written had been plagiarised and uploaded to a right-wing political forum. Clicking on the link in order to share his outrage, my screen started to fill in a swastika and picture of Hitler, very slowly like a Spectrum loading screen, just as two of my colleagues walked in. Still, at least it wasn't the Telegraph.

It’s worth remembering that, in hot weather, a slice of gala pie can cool you down by up to 4.7 degrees c.
