Right of the fireplace looking at it or standing in it? Maybe that's where we went wrong all this time. Scubar! In the Eternal City! I'm jealous, are you just posting to rub it in?

Hello For the last 10years or so I have moved home many times and lived in some seriously out of the way places. At first I was buying paperbacks then giving them away. Since I got an iPad I have done nearly all my reading on it, mostly getting books from slightly dodgy Russian websites. Also played most of my games on it, and watched most movies.
It’s not ideal for any of them, but it’s been great for me. Plus it means you can do all those things while in a hammock, which is a big bonus.

What's the best Mieville book? I've only read The Cityx2 and one with aliens that can only talk I pairs for some reason. Neither of them did much for me

Asda seem to have given me two receipts when they delivered. I've got Nicola REDACTED's list.
She seems to like crisps, cat food, vodka, cider and light bulbs.
I was a tad confused going through it as we don't have a cat.

The Scar is quite good fun. Good baddies and lotsa monsters. Coincidentally, I’ve just been advised that our Xmas bash is going to be steampunk. I know precisely who to blame for this.

Mieville's October the Story of the Russian Revolution is pretty good if you like Trotskyist dry history.

I’m going to nick hum’s penny farthing and turn up on that. That'd be Victoriana. You'd need to add a lawnmower engine with a trombone exhaust pipe if you want it steampunked up.

In other news, I’ve just acquired a large mulled wine and a couple of very nice gothic major arcarna prints, which makes up for the steampunkiness.
Something very odd is going on in my office. I’m fully expecting a 12foot baphomet statute to appear outside over the weekend.
It’s about time too.

A euphemism, not an. Despite the appearance of beginning with a vowel, it is actually a consonant sound, and requires "a", not "an".
