Shenguin 3000: (half an hour after a slight mistake) "...and we'd already be at the objective. Instead, your sub-par piloting skills have resulted in us..." Shenguin 3000: (an hour later) "...Thus, rather than being in the optimal position for an orbital insertion, the Viper will now have to travel forty times farther out before..." Shenguin 3000: (another hour later) "...so I think I'd rather have been installed in another vessel, as opposed to being stuck in this loser-wagon with you." Pilot: [flies Viper into star] Typical Amipal, totally getting the procedurally generated Shenguin wrong. He seems to be trying to suggest, with apparent comic intent, that a procedurally generated Shenguin would be nit-picking and constantly pointing out the pilot's errors. This is clearly not the case, as the procedurally generated Shenguin would have intervened at an earlier stage to ensure the correct action was taken at the appropriate point, thus rendering Amipal's skit somewhat nugatory. I can't believe I am having to take time out of my busy day to point this error out; we could all have saved ourselves a lot of time if Amipal's attempts at comedy had been conceived with a greater level of internal logical consistency and accuracy.

Good morning fellow residents of this forum which is taking a moment putting its feet up.
I am back in London, scubar & Mr Tiddles can rest easy. I will not be back in Plymouth for some time.
Good weekend, despite shit weather, go karting/barbecues/tennis all good fun.
Games: switch came out with me, more BOTW, I downloaded DLC and am having fun with that, amazed me how much of hyrule I haven't seen. The game is gargantuan. I've been playing for 30 hours. Still another 20 odd to go I reckon.
Paladins: FTP shooter, apparently like overwatch. It's enjoyable. But probably not for long without having to pay..
TV: what is America, absolutely amazing what he got these people to do. Highlights;
All of the colonel's scenes The child soldiers charity video The mosque. "Can I get a woop woop?"
4 stars.

Was he a general in the American civil war? General Cornelius Tiddles, sounds a bit like a Blackadder character.

*waves* Hello.
Only working two days again this week and watching the child the other three.
There's a really easy car dupe glitch in gta at the moment. Needs a friend though. Oh.
TV. More parks&rec S4. Almost on to S5.
Games. Bit of GTA. Not doing car dupe glitches as they get you banned from selling cars if you get caught. No siree. It may be patched soon/by tomorrow.

Morning all.
It’s been a long time since I played a game...
Preferred mammal is away next week though, so I get control of the tv back! I still have shitloads to do so probably won’t get that much gaming done, but still, more than I’m currently doing.

As in you didn’t do anything or that’s how you spent it? I'm going to guess Melv's response is 'Yes'. Morning All! NMS grabbed me good this weekend. Then spat me out just as hard. Spent a good amount of time cruising around doing the grind, upgrade, repeat cycle. Then saw I had the pre-order ship available so thought I'd check it out. Tried to add it to my collection, rather than replace my current ship, but some glitch happened. It replaced my ship (and everything stored in it) and didn't give me an option to get it back. Just to add insult to injury, when I tried to launch from my freighter it hit the roof and just bounced around until I alt+F4'd out. Not sure if I'll go back*. * I'll be back on it by 18:00

I went back to Gran Turismo Sport after spinning out when it was first released.
At least the online now works. Which I think is quite useful in a game that demands an online connection even for playing single player.
I have passed all the licence tests. which when you look at the way I drive (in game, not in life) is crazy. To celebrate this I drove the Nurburgring, mostly backwards and not as fast as you'd expect.

Hello all.
Can't argue with shenguin's post. I think my comments were ill founded. They were deeply ignorant, they showed a complete lack of understanding of modern ship-based AI methods, and simply served to highlight the sort of intense stupidity that starship-bots encounter from armchair pundits who forget to think before they open their mouth.

Last night
TV: more 'The Crown', just got rid of Anthony Eden (sparking off the topical "worst Prime Minister?" question among the viewing audience). Recommended, as long as you can put up with Prince Philip sounding like Dr Who. I thought it would be too much of a soap opera for me, but it's actually quite good and historical.
Games: bit more Octogenarian Travel Log, had turned back to take stock of side quests. They can be incredibly obscure, and the game doesn't give you any hint at all. So I beat up this one guy, and it took forever as he was unbelievably strong and dealt massive damage in his attacks. By the end I had used up all of my healing items and it turned out that the quest remained unresolved. I didn't want the experience gained from a three-quarters of an hour battle go to waste, so I saved and moved on. Reader, if you ever play this game: he's supposed to pound you into the ground (I found this out by sheer coincidence when a YouTuber mentioned this with a chuckle about how whimsical this game is).
That'll teach me for being stingy with my save slots.

Amipal, with a full and frank apology that you’re about to give us this morning I’m sure you can dig yourself out of this rather ugly hole.

I would just like to point out that I passed the Captcha test proving I’m not a bot when I joined this place. Other than that, I should offer a full and frank apology to everyone concerned.
Games: not really. Drinking: some. Work: too much and not enough.

I tried photographing a dead bee last night. I say tried; I mean "did". I did photograph a dead bee.
But... macro photography is very difficult. Not just in getting a pleasing composition, but also in getting enough of the subject in-focus. A tiny sliver of focus available. Very tricky.

It can actually be easier with cheaper equipment, if it has a smaller sensor, giving a larger depth of field. A prime macro lens is helpful, and I would eschew bellows, extension tubes or close up filters unless you really know what you’re doing, as they all make it more difficult to get good focus. Very small apertures of course increase distortion after a point because of the increased effect of diffraction.
It’s difficult but the results can be amazing. Or so I’m lead to believe by looking at other people’s photos.
You could try finding a bigger bee.
