Last night I played some games. A wee bit of CoD WW2 campaign, which is a bit of a chore if I'm honest. It's rubbish. Not quite as bad as the Space CoD Campaign or the BLOPs 3 one but it's still shite. A shame. I also played a couple of preseason games with my career player in NHL18. I'm genuinely impressed with it, a lot of fun to play and great for free ( kind of, it's free with EA Access ).
There was also an episode of Last Chance U.
Yes, I know it was my anniversary but as my wife and I are both up at daft o'clock we're useless of a weeknight so there were no celebrations. We'll go out for lunch on Sunday instead.

Films. Mrs Crank wanted something that would cheer her up and watched some chick comedy. I'm sorry to say I lol'd at points.
Games. More GTA car glitching. They really can't fix this or it's a big trap..can't decide. No more for me. I'm doomed.
More childcare today. Supposed to be dry so should get out. The European athletics championships have started in Glasgow and there is stuff (arts, music, sport) on at Glasgow Green and George Square we hope to get to at the Weekend.

Most embarrassing shows you've picked up from the significant other?
I got into 4 in a bed in a big way. Those people are awful, the vast majority of the time.
She also is very fond of Gilmore Girls, to the point where I've ended up seeing the same episodes twice and I go out of my way to ignore them.
That's a large part of the argument I used to get a switch so we could both enjoy our evenings. Sadly she's not on board with the clicking the controllers make...

Morning!
More Norman's Sky for me. Finally finished the massive tutorial and I am free, if I want to be. Met the anomaly people and opened the warps back to my base. Now just have to find a second ship to zip around that planet when I need low level mats. Finally upgraded my multi- tool too, which means I've lost my cash cow scanner, but on the upside I now have 19 slots to fill. You heard. Also, rather shamefully, I've only just realised you can get a suit upgrade at every space station. Inventory woes might finally be over.
Authentic frontier gibberish to most of you, I'm sure.
Civ VI! Only time for a couple of turns this morning. Science victory is looking most likely. Boring atm as no-one wants to go to war with me. I am building a nuke though so might just go full warmonger once it's complete.
Tonight, a nice Indian for the anniversary. Apparently one of the best in the North, in sunny old Stockton no less.

I'd have the same order I think but it's close on 1 & 3. I really like the Coach in S3, he seems like more of a what you see is what you get type of guy whereas Buddy was more of a hypocritical cunt. Indy have a lot more whingy fuckers on their team though, some real problem cases there. The main thing that surprises me though is how childish the players are despite being 18+, far too many of them can't do anything for themselves. I've also noticed that many of them are borderline illiterate too which is a worrying thing to see and doesn't say a lot for education in the US.

I was being a bit obtuse, she's only complained once - i have a dodgy right joycon, but they're largely pretty good. Only games like Paladins (online shooter) has it been noticeable. Definitely buy one, it's fantastic. BOTW I've decided is in my top 5 GOAT, I'm not close to completing it and I play it rarely, maybe a few hours every couple of weeks and love every second of it (turns out I've clicked up 45+ hours, I've only beaten half the guardians and my map still isn't complete). |

Mrs Zord is obsessed with Gilmore Girls. I have no idea why, the two main characters are annoying , overly zany, "hey lets talk at a fast pace and everything we say is a zinger" trite caricatures. Utterly 2 dimensional. I love Mrs Zord but she has shit taste in telly (and husbands etc)

GAMES: Grans Tiramisu is for some reason stuck on the same 3 races for online, so I was zooming around Suzuka again. Nothing of real interest to report, a couple of second and third places, the usual muppets who can't drive. Played a wee bit of Fortnite, I got reamed as is standard.

In some ways his behaviour is worse than buddy's, but he definitely cares. You see it more as the season goes on. He's definitely a better pull than the kids this series I think (although I did like buck, Carlos and Bobby). I read somewhere that there's a number of players, maybe 10? Who got contracts to top flight colleges after the season, none of whom got much air time. I get the feeling the producers deliberately went for the sob stories rather than balancing it with their football performance. One of my favourites from the first series was Dakota Johnson (played at Florida state) who just did everything he was supposed to and played well. I doubt he'd have got airtime this series? Although- he did get expelled for armed robbery from his previous uni or something so he might have done. |

The meal, I forgot about Ghandi being in Civ, is this 5? I know that due to a bug he was the outrageously aggressive in that From Kotaku: "In the original Civilization, it was because of a bug. Each leader in the game had an “aggression” rating, and Gandhi - to best reflect his real-world persona - was given the lowest score possible, a 1, so low that he’d rarely if ever go out of his way to declare war on someone. Only, there was a problem. When a player adopted democracy in Civilization, their aggression would be automatically reduced by 2. Code being code, if Gandhi went democratic his aggression wouldn’t go to -1, it looped back around to the ludicrously high figure of 255, making him as aggressive as a civilization could possibly be." |
