I leave you alone for a few days and look, what I thought would happen, happens. You lot are so predictable.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Anything happened I should know about while I was away? I'm not planning on reading through a fortnight's worth of inebriated banter.
I will regale with more stories from my travels in due course, but first let me report that the knick-knacks in my mum's secret volcano island lair were in dire need of dusting. That has kept me busy. The danger with OAPs plotting world domination is that they put ornaments bloody everywhere.
Oh, and to my great surprise both the cat and Mr Tent Rooster are alive, although I was greeted by a smell akin to a Virgin train with a broken toilet (i.e., a Virgin train) because the cat had done a poo and Mr Rooster had temporarily put the output between our two front doors.

Back two minutes and double front door boasting already? The nerve.

Did you just see yer mum? Or were other family members involved?
I'm just out of the planetarium. Had a nice doze during part of the show.

Did you just see yer mum? Or were other family members involved? My brother stayed a few days. He was doing the vacuum cleaning.

Waterstones have done away with their stamp card system and replaced it with a points card. I am pretty annoyed, as collecting the stamps had become a bigger objective in my life than reading the books.

On the plus side I have some nice new books with maps to add to the pile of unread books.

I recently cleared a second bookcase to house my unread book collection. Looks pretty good.

Who spent all day in hospital because his kid had a fever? This guy, that's who.
No games.

Who spent all day in hospital because his kid had a fever? This guy, that's who. No games. Who spent all day in bed because she'd picked up a bug at the airport? This gal, that's who. No games because I was feeling too ill. I'll spare you the graphic details, but I was shaking with cold from the lovely Bank Holiday weather. Today I had already got rid of two wasps in the bedroom, but noticed that there were two more. Later I was woken up by an insect crawling over my face, and instinctively swatted it away. In the dark I could see an insect moving on my pillow, and when I switched on the light I was able to pick up the wasp with a tissue without getting stung. What kind of country have I returned to?

I need space for another bookcase.

Maybe two new bookcases.

Perhaps 3 to be safe.
Really it is the space that is the issue. Not the absolute number of bookcases.

I was trying to say that I've got one of those electric tennis racquets from Aldi for persistant flies. Why? Because I am a monster who must be stopped.
