I was going to do a Coen brother top 5, when I realised I've only seen 4 of their films. Therefore: The Big Lebowski (obvs) No County for Old Men Millers Crossing Fargo

I have not seen most their stuff though, indeed in addition to the above I have only seen Bridge of Spies, which I fell asleep whilst watching.

Some of you people drink too much/do too many drugs/stamp on too many pigeons.
Hello all. Today has been an absolute shit storm.
Thankfully, I'm off out tonight to an excellent yakatori place that does amazing meat (including chicken hearts and other offal) and great beer.

Some of you people drink too much/do too many drugs/stamp on too many pigeons. And some people drink too little/do too few drugs/stamp on too few pigeons. Personally, I think I've got the balance right.

Spidey day, when the puddles are smaller than you remember them.
I want to continue playing Skyrim, but I would also like to play Monster Hunter.
Fortunately I'm playing Octodad Dadliest Travel Advice, so I haven't got time for either. Yesterday I finally stopped being distracted by side quests and optional dungeons and finished Therion's 2nd chapter. Now there's a bunch of easy fetch quests, sigh.
Afterwards I entered yet another dungeon and fought against a giant moth that was difficult to kill because my party had forgotten to pack the lavender spray. Swatted it in the end, though.

Morning all!
Spiderman should be arriving shortly, but I'm also absolutely dying to play The Messenger on Switch.
I'm trying to cut out dairy so drinking black coffee and my jobbies are supercharged. tmi. There was no need to tell us all about wanting to play The Messenger.

I vaguely remember there being a Chatterbox bowling meet once, and I’m sure it would just be 2 hours of people going “mark it Zero, Dude” and “Smokey, this is not ‘Nam, this is bowling. There are rules”

Have to played enough to deliver a definitive verdict on Octopus Troubler? Not that I have a Switch, just hoping it's shite because I don't.

Cheese sandwich and Wilcos pick and mix for lunch. The town centre near my work has both a Wilco's and a Poundland. The cheap confectionery and crisps choices abound. Hello. TV. More the bodyguard with Mrs Crank. Not brilliant TV but ok. Games. Deliveries with a friend on GTA so he can buy a nightclub. Then far too late I shoved on the BF:V beta. It's basically battlefield with a few new quirks. Won't pay full price and I've still not completed BF1. Lunch: left over sausages and omlette on a crispy (though not 'well fired') roll. Not Morton's but a fake Morton's. #rollchat.

Finished Altered Carbon last night - a wonderful horribly dark future it creates. Four stars.
My day has got slightly better - stepping stones have been laid in the back garden, and the "oh god, not that?!" that broke this morning isn't as serious as once thought.
Lunch: reheated fried chicken from Wednesday. And a Yorkshire I found in the fridge. Good eatin'.

I think it tailed off a bit near the end but it was a solid series. I think there's a second series on the way too.

I think it tailed off a bit near the end but it was a solid series. I think there's a second series on the way too. It stayed suitably brutal throughout, which I liked. And a clear delineation between regular people and the uber-rich. There are more books in the series, so I'm not surprised. Hopefully the same budget will be applied, because it looks bloody beautiful.

llamaman1991I already had the fried chicken, just needed something light (like a terrier) on the side. FacelessSpinal injuries are worse.

llamaman1991 I already had the fried chicken, just needed something light (like a terrier) on the side. I hate having to spit out the stupid little bow. Spinal injury is what's in my fortune cookie. I'm about to attempt putting two new IKEA slatted bed bases together to go with our new double mattress that's so heavy that I need a crane in the bedroom to lift it. I installed the mattress just before I visited my mum, and because my other half couldn't help me because he can't lift anything or stand or climb stairs unaided I had to phone around and find a bloke who was willing to sacrifice some of his weekend at short notice to help me carry that beast upstairs, after tugging at it feebly for about 2 hours. Afterwards I looked like a domestic abuse victim with bruises all over my arms. I managed to pull the mattress into a position where I can install the base on one side, got to repeat the process for the other. Wish me luck. Maybe phone 999 in advance.

Query for the Blog Hive Mind: what’s the best way to get a cheap one way flight? I need to get to Zurich ASAP.
In entirely unrelated news, I am not competent to be system admin on software packages.

This from the southerner who keeps a "Yorkshire" in his fridge... They... need to know their place. :edit And as I'm keen to stress to people on the Other Place, the south-east isn't just London. Our roads are falling apart, homelessness abound in Brighton, and doctors surgeries closing all over the place. I'd love it if more people in the south moved up north, I really would.

Pity Switzerland has agreed free movement of people with the EU or you could walk into the Home Office eating a Toblerone and tell them you have lost your passport. In the rush to deport you they probably wouldn't even bother to check if you're actually Swiss.
