Oh, I’ve just seen that admin has made a poll. Ok. On a related note I have not heard anything back from the ‘games editor’. Strangely, ex-chatterboxers do not seem to be his top priority. He is a she. Keza Dugdale MacDonald Yeah, I just saw the news. The person my email was passed to was a man.

I would make it as it as easy as possible for new people to join in, even if we subsequently choose to drive them away by mocking them. I would also maintain a presence on th games and tech pages: don’t let the Guardian forget we exist, and possibly occasionally point new games weirdos in this direction. I don't have a particularly strong opinion about this, though I have to add it is not difficult to register here and you had to register at the other place to comment anyway

What about Christopher Guest? Should he not be permitted to share his views on lunch and Super Tennis?

Anyway, I hadn’t thought about poor old Destry being our lonely FRANK. As he is the only person responsible for maintaining any semblance of order Im happy to leave the decision up to him.

@shotput are you having enough fibre? What does a standard breakfast and dinner look like in your day? I don't pop a blood vessel when I go to the toilet so I'm probably sorted for fibre. Breakfast - cereal (2 weetabix/ cornflakes /rice crispies) Dinner - either something homemade (stovies/spaghetti Bolognese/Mac and cheese) or if I'm lazy something I can throw in the oven (fish cakes/ chicken escalopes) and chips/pasta/noodles. In defence of boiled chicken and potatoes, it's a nice way to use a chicken after making chicken soup

Hello again i think guests should be allowed. I have been involved with a couple of blogs similar to this. One for football when we weren’t allowed to chat all day about transfers; it was very similar to the whole chatterbox situation - I’m sure some of you will remember the football bullies invading our box. the other was when loads of nerds got upset with Charles Arthur and set up an alternative to Boot-up. Both started off very well, much like this blog, but people drift off after a while, and if you don’t get replacements then eventually the blog withers away. I would make it as it as easy as possible for new people to join in, even if we subsequently choose to drive them away by mocking them. I would also maintain a presence on th games and tech pages: don’t let the Guardian forget we exist, and possibly occasionally point new games weirdos in this direction. Good points especially about directing new nerds, from the other place, here. I still think no the guest posts. The rationale being: 1) there's nothing stopping guest from reading the 'box if that's their thing. 2) registration is easy and 3) if we are going to post wrong headed games and other related chat here then, at the very least, we should be prepared to put our internet pseudonyms to it.

Evening.
Games: not yet, but it'll probably be Fallout 4 or CIV V.
Games Backlog: in a recent clear out of my games cabinet I found the original Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy XIII-2 still in the wrappers.
Other: Trains. The train on my commute home had half the usual number of carriages. It's normally standing room only, so tonight was chaos.
There really should be something done about this. I wonder if privatisation has been considered? You know, to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency.

So PS plus games for next month confirmed as Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends.
I'm not interested in the latter, but is the former any good?

I remember from my lurking days someone thought quite highly of it... I think big worv? Darksiders 2 was in his top 3 Zelda games or something as they were very similar..

Darksiders 2 is a good fun game.
I don’t like the exclusion of guests. Otherwise it’ll eventually just be BigG hooting his awful posts to the abyss. Most of the 3 star posters who don’t want guests to have the right to post were lurkers on the box until recently. Maybe they should remember that.
Edit: I said ‘vote’ instead of ‘post’ so I changed it.

Are guests able to vote ? Should there be a vote to decide this ? Should members have a vote to decide if there should be a vote to decide this ?

Just remember - giving people the vote is why we have Brexit.

In the interests of impartiality I haven't voted. For what it's worth I don't really have a problem with Guests posting, although it is more difficult to take action against anyone who abuses it. (Using VPN to hide IP addresses for example)
For some reason, although I could initially post as a Guest on the desktop site, for the past few days I couldn't despite not changing any forum settings but could from my mobile, (until I changed the permissions).
There is a built-in captcha thing to prevent spambots, so we shouldn't be inundated with spam, however we choose to go forward.

I vote we don't vote on whether there should be a vote about whether guests can vote, especially in votes about whether guests can vote in votes.

If you're referring to the Guardian Chatterbox, whilst this is true they could read posts but still had to register to post unless they already had a Guardian account.
