Does anyone have AC Odyssey lined up or is RDR2 the one being waited for? Buying games released this side of 2010 is expensive. I'm with scubar, RDR2 for me, odyssey looks amazing, I also want Spiderman, too many good games coming out.

There was a letter in the local paper complaining about the noise in the library. Which summed up basically said "Don't kids have somewhere else they can go?"
We're hardly the Bodleian.
We all wondered which curmudgeon user wrote it. Another customer responded to the paper defending us.
The original complainer is writing a reply - as she just asked a member of staff for help using Word.

If you've reached the point where it feels like it must be near the end, you're probably only about half way through. That game drags on forever. Turns out I'm only a couple away from finishing it, duvall and some other guy left to kill. This is the second time I've picked it up to finish it, can't knock it's longevity. Quality however is dubious. I'm also very envious re. the football. Hoping to get to the man city game in a couple of weeks.

I am deeply disappointed they didn't go with Four stars for Forza 4
Ideal opportunity for a bit of alliteration. The G has gone to shit since they got rid of the chatterbox.

Guardian gave Forza the full 5 star treatment. If I can manage to get a gaming laptop in the next few months that's on my list of games to get. Needs a decent one though to run properly. How's your build going?

I even have photographic evidence thanks to BigWorv stalking services
So do I, which is why I asked.

Guardian gave Forza the full 5 star treatment. How's your build going? Terrible. I got a new Asus B450 motherboard with a Ryzen 2600x CPU already inserted with a CPU fan. It should have been simply a case of slotting it in to my existing PC case and hooking up the fans and power unit. I also had to swap the DDR3 ram for DDR4. However, after doing the above nothing happens, not a single fan or sign of life other than a very brief blue light coming on behind the power button (even this does not happen most the time). The motherboard's LED does come on , but all this means is that the mains are somehow getting through to the motherboard and does not mean I am nearly there with it. I have ordered a bleep audio test of Amazon (not arriving for a week though) and will hopefully have time to "breadboard" the individual bits tomorrow. If nothing else at least I have learned a thing or two so far.

Togas are Roman, AC Odyssey is set in ancient Greece. Surely it's cowboys vs chitons? (To quote a Classicist friend "a lot of people think the ancient Greeks were Englishmen in bedspreads".)

You can call it what you want, you’re still wearing a bedsheet Fair enough. Cowboys vs bedsheets is an even more obvious choice in favour of cowboys.

But I bet all of these realities are missing from RDR2. They’ve got expanding and shrinking testicles, I’m fairly sure they can find time to slip in some syphilis.

Ouch. Been a while since I built one. Can you get a case from somewhere with a no quibble returns to test it. {Edit} spotonpc cases have a 14 day returns policy.

The hardest part is cable management, keeping it tidy. Have you read the motherboard booklet to make sure everything's plugged in to the right places? And, is your PSU old or new? If old, it's probably worth getting a new one, gold rated if budget allows for it. Never skimp on the PSU.

I am fairly sure I can test it myself when the audio kit arrives and both the motherboard and CPU are under warranty so I should not be out of pocket. My PSU is pretty old but I think those things are still good to use if they have the correct cable connectors, which mine have. If all else fails Mrs Fark had her laptop fixed by a local computer guy, so I might dump the whole mess with him and ask him to sort. In a weird kind of way I want to fix myself though.

Sheep2 I've played most of the AC games, I think, there seems to be a lot of them saying that.
There are a couple of forums I know which will be in full Comic Book Guy mode. I recently went on one of them to chat about differences in hoplite equipment in the 5th century BC. They are a feisty bunch and do a great line in answering a question whilst berating you for not knowing the answer. The only time I've had controversial comments was on my vlog about the hoplite shield.
I called it an 'aspis', this was controversial.
Cowboys The Rich Hall documentary (think it's the one about Texas) collapses the cowboy myth. Most of what we know is Hollywood fable.

If old, it's probably worth getting a new one, gold rated if budget allows for it. Never skimp on the PSU. Everything plugged in where it should go, like I said the audio kit will shed light on what's wrong. The Asus motherboard booklet is actually pretty terrible, especially the part about connecting the front panel, but it's all where it should be. The PSU was working fine with the old board and is gold rated, but if I had to bet on the problem it's either the PSU or I was sold a dud board.
