Games: none.
OTTM: put several hours into RDR2. It does feel quite big, and like there's life going on in it. There's still stuff I can't do, pick up potatoes when I'm going through people's kitchens, throw chairs out of windows, <spoiler> chop down trees with a Gatling gun </spoiler> etc, so the promise of the reviews that it's a step change in interactive realism is just silly; it's an incremental change.

Morning all. A damp and dark morning down here today. Chilly too. Working from home again today, as got my year-end review document to complete. Easier to do without my colleague waffling at me all day. Games: just Civ Rev. My partner is playing Diablo 3 again on the PS3. TV: none! YouTube: the latest Red Letter Media Re:View on Star Trek: the Motion Picture. And then a Nostalgia Nerd thing about the Amiga CD32. I read this initially as rear end review. I thought tha ts a bit personal

a mile away?! Whereabouts in Plymouth are you? You first... People warily avoiding each other while needing to fetch items in a wasteland. Isn't there a game like this now?

All those Skyrim memes are suddenly going to make sense to cobblers. I'd love to give you a ton of advice, but you know what? Exploration is all part of the game. Go! Be free! I’ll give one more piece of advice, as Scam (RIP in peace) isn’t here to say it. Find the lover stone, near Markarth. Level up all your skills 15% faster. One does not send a new visitor to Skyrim Markarth-way so early on...

Skryrim
The plot is terrible, the fighting is bobbins and the quests haven't evolved from Oblivion. Apart from that it is pretty good. Genuinely it is a pretty good game, although the weaknesses become more apparent the longer you play.
Bethesda really need to find way to update their games though. Perhaps look at what Bioware did with Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect Andromeda. Then throw that in the bin and do something else entirely.

Cobblers, don't be afraid to take on those Yetis that strut around like they own the place. They're easy to kill right from the start.

Red Dead still has its claws in me. If anything, only getting to play it in small bursts keeps me hungry for it. Was a barman for a bit last night, then went treasure hunting. I came across a prospector, who was very, very happy. Then somehow, a shotgun just appeared in my hands and went off. Oh well, never mind.

Turns out an old school building burned down next to me last night while I was playing RDR2 last night, which explained the lack of water pressure for my morning shower as the blaze was still ongoing this morning.
Apparently, a developer has been trying to get permission to tear it down and build flats but couldn't get the planning permission which makes the blaze seem pretty convenient.
In other news, beer52 sent me a second crate by mistake. Not the best month for it to happen, but I'll take it.

Stroke of "luck" with a fire last night in one of the properties I wanted to pull down anyway. Sent a case of beer to the geek next to it to make sure he keeps his trap shut if he saw anything. It'll be the horse's head if he goes round making noises or speculating about it.

It's my wedding anniversary today and, being a bloke, I forgot. I am now hastily knocking up card on my Canon Pixma printer. She won't notice the difference, will she?* * She will, won't she? I'll tell her it's the thought that counts and stuff her full of maltesers. A fun-size pack of Maltesers and a firm handshake out to do the trick.

Yetis? Is that same as frost trolls? Ive found they respond well to being set on fire whilst I run away backwards.
The SooFWIRAB combat technique has proved successful with bandits, trolls, frost trolls, various dragir, a dragon (surprisingly), imperial salespeople and 50% of a mammoth. Giants not so much.

Hi. I am still very much enjoying RDR2, though admittedly I only play it about once a week - the regime that got me 18 months of value out of Witcher 3. Now i am out of the snow it's really opened up, and the game feels less like a simulation of toolio2010's life.

Good afternoon nerds,
No games last night, watched the Mrs show of choice "Celebs go dating" it is truly car crash television, but Rob Beckett had me in absolute stitches with his commentary. The irony that probably the biggest celebrity on the show is the voice-over artist..
Anyone seen the video of the two poor policemen getting set upon by thugs? The police chief criticised those filming it, saying that police will begin to stand down if the public don't help them.
Really not sure where I stand on this, obviously it is against police getting beaten up but encouraging members of the public to support them in a situation which they aren't paid for or trained to do?
