Anyone seen the video of the two poor policemen getting set upon by thugs? The police chief criticised those filming it, saying that police will begin to stand down if the public don't help them. Really not sure where I stand on this, obviously it is against police getting beaten up but encouraging members of the public to support them in a situation which they aren't paid for or trained to do? If you've got time to film it you have time to call 0118 999 881 999 119 725 3 to help get them some back up. I'd imagine it's quite difficult to use your radio whilst being beaten on. You're right that the public shouldn't be expected to put their own lives on the line, though. On a related note, I do believe anyone who puts snotty notes on emergency vehicles for blocking drives etc, when they're responding to a call, should be blacklisted from getting help when they need it. |

Morning
First white stuff of the festive season today, unfortunately it was hail and sleet. This doesn't bode well for the tender pots in my garden that still haven't been dragged into the greenhouse cos it's still full of chillies. I feel a day of mud and slugs is near.
Games!..... downloaded bfV on the recommendation of a couple of mates who said it was a free 10-hour trial. They neglected to tell me it would cost £20 to sign up to EA for the year, a 44Gb download, and then I never had time to play it.
I did get a few hours in Norman's Koi, and fell foul of the 'Depot missions' bug, whereby having accepted the mission to destroy said depot, located it, and reduced it to smoking nothingness with my ships cannons, only then do I find out I was actually meant to have destroyed it using my puny hand-held sidearm, on foot, while being perforated by whatever means the sentinels could throw at me. Really?
Chalk up another abandoned mission for Gong, and the loss of Rep with whatever faction I took the mission from.
It's also hours of play since I found any crashed ship apart from freighters.... this seems to be a common problem nowadays so might be another bug. I don't have actual money to buy a new ship so i'll stick with the one I've got. I'm still enjoying the game despite all this, not having a clue where I am in the galaxy, and not much of an idea of what 'path' i'm following. Playing it has become an oddly zen experience.

That's how it used to work, yep. Now though I do the same thing.... signal scanner to find distress call, or observatory, which then gives a puzzle before giving me the location. Problem is when I go to that location I find the distress beacon, and even find a patch of scorched ground where the crashed ship should be, except it isn't there.
I've heard tell in the webz that if I then set up another signal scanner, and scan for 'nearby buildings', it will take me to a ship. I'll try that next time and let you know if it worked

Hi,
forgot all about this place for a while. I assume everyone is shoulder deep into rdr2? Im on chapter 6 and recently killed a cave full of inbreds only using a machete, it was memorable.
In other news I have an electric bike now, its like cycling normally but without making any effort at all. I can't recommend it enough, worth every penny.
I also have Fallout 76 but its not getting a look in till rdr2 is finished.
I had a burrito for lunch today.

Hi. I am still very much enjoying RDR2, though admittedly I only play it about once a week - the regime that got me 18 months of value out of Witcher 3. Now i am out of the snow it's really opened up, and the game feels less like a simulation of toolio2010 's life. Cheers We it's so similar to my life.....a little less bank robberies and more horses maybe. Actually it's weird I was hiking the other week in the wilderness and came across two horses, one had a huge bell around it's neck. Called wildlife officer and said he's been following them for miles. |

I'm happy that I'm no longer the last Skyrim n00b. As for the free archery lessons, I managed to completely balls that one up. I thought that if I rat on Sven and Faendal to Camilla she'd remember that old saying about fishes and bicycles. Sister, you need neither of these idiots, they'll just try to fob you off with Maltesers on your anniversary/birthday!
Instead I ended up with no free archery lessons and what's worse, Sven as a follower. By the time I realised what I had done I had already completed some other lengthy quest. Bollocks. This is why the games industry needs more women, that quest shouldn't have had only two possible outcomes.
As for the stone near Makarth, one gets there quickly if one starts that quest, doesn't one? Although I never got to the stone as I was taking a wrong turn - I'm still not used to mountains as obstacles after playing BOTW. I can't remember what happened, but I got badly sidetracked.
I need to go back to Skyrim. Everyone stop reminding me of my backlog.
Edit: The interwebz is telling me that it's possible to get Camilla to hate both Faendal and Sven by pickpocketing both letters. That doesn't make any sense.

It can, I am not fit and haven't cycled properly for years but can easily commute 15 miles in each direction without too much sweat. Mine is a gocycle, as I wanted a folding bike with decent range. I don't use it that often (weather, need to move between sites at work, laziness, etc) but I do like it very much. |

Interesting, all basically true but written to make it sound worse than it is also the fun aspect is obviously subjective, personally I love the way PvP works. Reads like another person who wishes this was Fallout 5 |
