Quiet night in, as usual. Finally some time for games, I hope. Some film maybe, some TV. Mr Tent Rooster likes watching the ceilidh on BBC Alba. But I got all the party nibbles (M&S, 3 for 4). Mini Yorkshire puds with roast beef? Check. Mini quiche bites? Check. Mini blinis with salmon, mini lobster mac & cheese, mini cheese burgers, mini dim sum, mini vegetarian party snacks? Check, check, check, check & check. Nobody wants mini pigs in blankets after Christmas. Food tastes better bite size. I'll also be keeping my tradition of not waiting until midnight to open as many champagne bottles as I like to help me get through the BBC Alba ceilidh. I'll have the fizzy mainly to myself anyway as Mr Tent Rooster will be sticking to wine and whisky. Tenthen 4 best New Years Eve Avatar! I have in-laws here, I'll try to sneak off for some drunken gaming in my 'drunken gaming' lounge suite in a moment. |

No going out for me as I am at the in-laws, which is virtually a dry household. I've smuggled in a couple of cans of gin liqueur, which I may quaff later during another highly anticipated visit to the Gary Glitter. That's harsh man. In other news: red wine (now) and curry later. I just watched Sliding Doors, for the first time since I saw it at the cinema. I'd forgotten the ending. I can't tell where my eyes end and the tear-soaked tissues begin. |

It's cool though, they dont really mind if i drink, I've got the catalogue from the latest British Museum exhibition to read, and I have downloaded FTL and ChampMan07 to play on my laptop. I am basically Mark from peep show.

There's an unspoken agreement in our family that Hogmanay celebrations are best being kept as an in-law free zone. After all one's just seen the folks at Christmas and it's a human right to welcome the New Year from the comfort of one's sofa in one's underpants.

Fortunately I got myself a new micro SD card on this there Black Friday.

Once a year the collectors of unusual and antique tents in Germany get together for a new year festival. This year the organisers are holding it in Mainz. Unfortunately the local burghers have objected to the influx of campers ruining their fields with their tent pegs.
The organisers have appealed to the locals claiming it would be a real shame, "Should old and quaint tents be forgot and never brought to Mainz......."
