My father in law has just forced me to drink a whisky and join him as he walked out into the middle of the street and loudly played Auld Lang Syne followed by a festive medley on the accordion. The neighbours' doors remained stubbornly closed. 2 minutes into 2019 and feeling awkward already. Happy New year everyone!

I'm now more interesting party nibbles and fizzy wine than woman. No BBC Alba, just Blackadder Christmas Special. Still no games as we had to unpack a late Xmas parcel that arrived this morning before we were able to phone the folks who sent it. Fireworks display courtesy of neighbours.

A) There's feck all boats on the Clyde anymore
B) I don't live by the river anymore.
That and opening all the windows to let the new year in.
