Snow! Not much at all, but enough to cause chaos.
This means fuckwits on public transport who can't work their wallet/purse. I don't know how they manage to pay for petrol normally.
Hello. Games. Smash Bros & overcooked 2 with the nephew.
TV. More Ray Donovan.

We have snow too, but it's not settled. Only had time for some Titans before bed as the kid has a croaky cough and was late to go down. No games, sadly.

Morning. I played some more late night RDR2 last night. I dunno, I am starting to find it a bit boring. Some of the battles do feel like you are in a wild west shootout, but mostly it's just wildly pressing L2 then R2. The cut scenes look amazing but the dialogue is very po-faced. The best bits are where you ride about doing nothing. Maybe I need to move on to the city. It's mostly making me want to play Witcher 3 again.

Hello all. The courier didn't arrive yesterday til 18:15 to pick up my hire lens. I wouldn't have minded so much if I had an idea of the time he'd be with us, but you're just left in that courier-limbo where every Transit is a dash to the window. TV! First episode of the new series of Star Trek: Discovery. As with the first series, I have some issues with it, but will probably still watch it. And moan about it. Games! Sinking Spartan vessels in Odyssey for some of those special crystal things. Got to the special crystal market to find that there's nothing worth spending them on. Photos! Worked on a few more shots from Friday. This is undoubtedly my favourite from the evening.

Hello everyone!
Snow bad in my area, but still made it into work in Glasgow. Get into work and within 20 minutes, there's a fire alarm allowing us all to stand outside in the snow.
I started playing Final Fantasy 9.
I have no idea what I'm doing.

A second Brexit vote would be... good...? Except it would also be abosultely excruciating and terrifying. We'd either be saved, or utterly utterly fucked beyond measure.

I think it marks a sad day for democracy when a referendum is re-ran effectively because the media and politicians didn't like the result and the latter made a real hash of trying to implement the result. However I am voted Remain and it would certainly make my life easier if the result was ultimately overturned. I expect there would be rioting, an increase in mad right wing party memberships and the like though if it did happen.

I think the harm to democracy has already been inflicted. Top five interconnected harms to democracy that are regularly ignored and that endanger our society: 1) growing inequality in economic terms, and the increasing power of corporations over our lives 2) poor level of political understanding and engagement among the electorate 3) dishonest and biased media 4) claims that the will of the people must be enacted, when the will of the people is not clear and is based on lies 5) failure of political leadership to set out a vision and actually tell the idiot masses what is good for them

I expect there would be rioting, an increase in mad right wing party memberships and the like though if it did happen. I don't buy into the argument that it would be anti-democratic. A second referendum on the deal is one of the things that was explicitly suggested before the first referendum by some of the pro-brexit leaders (JRM, David Davis etc). So on that basis it's as logical to argue that a second ref *is* what people voted for the first time round. You could say that's implausible, but it's no more implausible than the argument that what people voted for was hard brexit full stop. It's the latter argument that's causing the logjam, otherwise there would be a majority for May's deal, which is Brexit after all.

However I am voted Remain and it would certainly make my life easier if the result was ultimately overturned. I expect there would be rioting, an increase in mad right wing party memberships and the like though if it did happen. I'm surprised you say that the media don't like the result. The Guardian don't like the result. The Sun, Times, Express, DM, etc all seem to quite supportive of it. The BBC isn't exactly running with an anti-Brexit narrative. I expect there might be some protests in London if the result was over-turned, but claims of widespread rioting seem to be a scare tactic. I'd expect a hard Brexit would create more unrest. Britain does not have a recent history of mass civil violence. There is an problem that our society does seem divided over the issue. The root cause of those divisions seem to come from an inequality of wealth and power, that have been allowed to grow into an ugly and ignorant anti-EU protest movement. There has been a devastating lack of response to that from the moderate and progressive politicians; a failure to communicate the benefits of EU membership, a failure to articulate a narrative of economic change to actually help citizens, a failure to lead. How that apparent social schism is now addressed is not obvious, but an act of national self-harm based on the deception of people by elites is unlikely to be the best course. I suspect that if we could avoid Brexit and properly address the other failings in our society (inequality, NHS, social services, etc) then that schism might turn out to be not so deep after all. Either that, or May needs to find an overseas war to fight pretty quickly, that usually works.
