If you burn polyurethane at low temperatures, you get hydrogen cyanide, but if you burn it at high temperatures, you get deadly nitrogen dioxide instead.

Urgh. My face is hot enough to burn polyurethane at high temperatures. I feel decidedly unwell. I think it was the cold ginsters Cornish pasty I ate at 12.15 am.
