don’t muck about with it. Scrape the scales, a few decent cuts across the top/flank/whatever the hell it is on a sole, grill it with a bit of butter, salt, pepper and if you absolutely must, a sprig of rosemary. Serve with jersey royals and samphire. I’d recommend a picpoul to go with that. Whatever it is, it's not a sole. Lemon sole is a flounder, not a sole. You a sole. Ok doofus, whatevs |

Is turning 50 more depressing than turning 40? I would have thought 40 was peak misery and you gradually comes to terms with death and falling to bits from here on in so 50 is not so bad.

Okay gourmets, got any decent Lemon Sole recipes? Happy Buffday Scubar, over 50 already eh, my how time flies! Lemon Sole with a light Balsamic vinegar, Sea salt and slices of cherry tomatoes, wrapped in silver foil oven cook for 15-20 mins at 180 deg c and serve with Asparagus and buttered new Jersey Royals. Ice cream sorbet with wafers and strawberry sauce for pudding (Opt). edit: middle of the oven.. |

Happy Birthday scubar50 is a great age. On my 50th I climbed a volcano and drank all the wine. The day after my 50th I had a world class hangover, and kept finding smelly rocks in my pockets. |

I would imagine when turning 40 if you were still MWI and didn't fear taking ecstasy you could go-to a dance music festival and have lots of fun. Whereas at 50 you're more cautious and can't be arsed and more miserable. Like I say, I don't know for sure but I could imagine that's the case. |
