I have literally just taken possession of a copy of Mario Kart. This is strictly to help out @smellavision so that he no longer has to take last place, you understand. The urge to unlock a few karts, drivers and cups right now is strong, but I have work to do. Must. Re. Sist. I was happy to see that the Keza & Keef E3 Show is back in town, although they are still difficult to find. I watched Microsoft's offering without them. It went on for too long, now it's all a colourful blur. Phil Spencer is a good egg who probably curses Don Mattrick's legacy as soon as he wakes up every morning and Xbox Game Pass is giving Google Stephen a run for its money. I'm probably the only person not excited for Cyberpunk 2077. For some reason I usually don't like bleak future/post-apocalyptic world scenarios. I am indeed rejoicing for Chumbles and his new bed! Sleep, sleep is good. Happy to play some kart at 10pm? Dangerously close to my bedtime. |

Still raining here. And Blueray, HD DVD, Betamax...it's all just a disk thing to watch porn off. *disc Optical media may look similar, but they all have different capacities, raw data transfer, require different laser wavelengths, and usually use different video and audio codecs. |

Betamax was the domestic version of Umatic professional videotape. Then they brought out super betamax which was like hiband Umatic. Loved those Umatic tapes back in the day. Media Studies, now there's a proper college course.

Betamax was a tape not a disc format. Fucking amateur hour here. I let that one go. In fact I actually owned a Sony Betamax player/recorder. It was the better system. Sadly VHS (in particular the prevalence of VHS rental over Betamax) won the day |
