Put you right off your buzz that would. Biggest rave buzz kills: 1) That girl dancing near you drops to the floor 2) Thorough security 3) Security with those damn torches on the dance floor 4) That person who doesn't give you your lighter back 5) Men with their shirts off Biggest rave buzz kills:
1) Raves 2) People at raves

So...
Ever since I saw "Sideways" I was convinced that Pinot Noir was the best red wine, yes I was and still am that shallow and susceptible, it took a Christmas meal* with the Preferred Mammals family where they pointed out, after the fact and not to my face, that the wine didn't really go with roast beef.
I naturally put it down to the fact that they are barbarians who wouldn't know a good wine if it, put analogy here, so I ignored them.
After a few testings I have to agree that they are correct and it is not robust enough to compliment roast beef or steak.
So gentle reader, what should I do? Should I:
1. Acknowledge they were right 2. Keep testing to prove them wrong 3. Move to wherever Mr Tiddles lives in the hope that he'll catch up with me at some stage
This was brought on by buying a bottle of Pinot Noir today
<edit> I cooked for 9 people if that helps
*Rolled Sirloin all the trimmings (over)cooked by yours truly

Pinot Noir requires disciplined, rigorous testing. Christmas with the outlaws does not qualify as controlled environment. Too many variables. Apply for a research grant. Do it for science. Humanity needs to know. Do not go for Option 3. Even when all hope seems lost, Option 3 is not the answer. (best red wine is Pinotage, the evolved form of Pinot Noir)

3. Move to wherever Mr Tiddles lives in the hope that he'll catch up with me at some stage I'm outside right now. Cul-de-sac or not, it makes no difference to me.

Just say that you have it on good authority that a Gevrey-Chambertin will be more than potent enough to match roast beef or a steak. Although a Château Cantemerle or any decent Haut-Médoc would be more to my palette ... alternatively a really good cheaper Cab Sav main course Chateau Lousteauneuf, Medoc, France. I bought 3 cases of that in '02 and it is bloody marvellous ...

I appreciate Chumbles recommendations, though after checking the prices and even though I can afford them, boast, they are past my internal price/taste ratio. I cannot tell the difference between a £10 bottle and a £20 bottle* so I have a maximum price** Strangely, tonight I'm cooking fillet steak, with Jersey Royals and asparagus paired with a merlot cab-sav from Bordeaux Serendipity is a good word *don't ask about £5 and £7 etc. etc. **unless I'm drunk, which is ironic? I watched the Nintendo E3 presentation and I'm happy. I wouldn't have been able to take more. Secret of Mana Collection available now! This does not sit well with training for MarioKart.
Panzer Dragoon remake! All the JRPGs for the Switch! I can't cope with this.
Switcher 3 is coming! Fire Emblem looks good! Dark Crystal Netflix strategy game??!! Weird.*
Luigi's Mansion 3, still no release date?? Link's Awakening in September, yeah. Animal Crossing delayed until March, thank the gods, I don't have time for that game.
SPOOKY BREATH OF THE WILD SEQUEL, YESSSSS!!!! I want.
*Fun fact: The Dark Crystal was the first film I ever saw on my own in a cinema.

*Fun fact: The Dark Crystal was the first film I ever saw on my own in a cinema. The first I can remember is "True Grit"*, where I just stayed in the cinema and watched it again, the old man had to come and find me Looking at when it was released means I was really young, so this story may not be true, the OM coming to find me is true, I then thought Ring of Bright Water, but that was the same year so... I did watch 60's James Bond double features in the seventies when I was about 12ish Thinking about it I'm convinced it was True Grit Times have changed

The first 18 film I saw in the cinema was The Warriors. We were camping with the school. The teacher told the cinema we were all orphans and they took pity on us and let us in as it was all that was showing. I was about 14. Looked younger.
Possibly some Divisioning later. Not home yet. Maybe some MarioKart practice.

Planning on some MK at 10pm.
Be there or be square.
First film without my parents was Empire Strikes Back. Double bill with Star Wars.
The best one was The Final Countdown - a time travelling aircraft carrier! My brother went to see Bedknobs. Idiot.

First film I can remember seeing at the cinema was Zulu. i was 10. It was at the Hippodrome Cinema, South Bank, Middlesbrough. Run by Paul Daniels' dad, Hughie.
The first X rated film I saw at the cinema was Robert Altman's M*A*S*H when I was 16.
EDIT: June 1970 so I was still 15.

I have to this day never been to the cinema on my own. Losers. Oddly, neither have I that I can recall - long legs made most cinema seats bloody unpleasant and the inevitable noisome, crisp eating, farting drooling monsters some malign parents...

I have never been to the cinema on my lonesome. Who will cuddle me when I get scared?
First film I remember seeing at the cinema was The Black Cauldron, when I was five.
First film I saw at the cinema without my parents was Cool Runnings. I was thirteen.

First film at the cinema was either Superman 4 or Moonwalker. Whichever was out first.
First film without the folks was possibly Beavis & Butthead Do America.

My first cinema visit was Watership Down. Got hammered on Top Deck at the interval and vomited in the aisle. I must have been 6 or 7 years old, but this was normal behaviour for the era.

I'm watching some of the E3 videos. A bit too much whooping and hollering for my liking. Bloody Yanks.
I'm surprised Ubisoft have managed to make a third Watchdogs. The third one, much like the previous two, holds no interest from me whatsoever*. Plus the main narrator for the trailer sounds like an American putting on a British accent. Something is off about it**.
Onto FFVII Remake now. Product Manager Neil looks like he's just arrived on his sweet hog. He also seemed to be a bit of a twit. "Yo brah! Awesome!"
*much like your face.

First film at the cinema, I think, was Return of the Jedi. First film I watched alone at the cinema was Pulp Fiction.
Both over-rated children's films, but I enjoyed them at the time.
And the most recent film I saw at the cinema was Life of Pi in 3D. I was on my own. Four stars, but mostly for the company.
