Morning all.
Today is my "give and gain" day, one day in the year when Bank staff get to help a charity of their choosing (or whoever in the team organises it). Previous years have features helping out at the Marlets' warehouse, and also some gardening. Today I'll be heading the the Southwick MS centre to redecorate the place.
Gamesblog - none.
TVblog - 30 Rock, and then the last episode of Designated Survivor.
YouTubeblog - I watched an interesting piece by a photographer who has been accused of some nefarious activity. Not sure which side of the fence I sit on.

Good to to see the tax payer finally getting to see a return on that bailout money. It's not quite raining here, looks miserable though.

Hey bloggies.
I purchased an item from ebay for an associate recently, and merely pointed out that it arrived later than scheduled. Then I receive this message.
"I note in your feedback you state the item arrived late - I dispatched it the day after you purchased it - how can a delay be my fault - I am not responsible for the vagaries of Royal Mail and this should have been clearer in the feedback."
I think 8 days for a letter to arrive is unusual, it's not like I'm living in some far flung place, like Scotland Kyrgyzstan.
How should I tell them to fuck off?

At one point the chatterbox was about 30% Lloyds employees. Infested The G was one of the few places that was not blocked to them.
I don't think Amipal is an Angryman style banker, more an assistant IT manager in the loans department out in the sticks. I may be wrong. He may be sleeping on a golden bed on a mattress made of £50 notes. Or second hand Amigas may be surprisingly expensive.

Hello, I keep getting redirected with spam messages when I try to use this site.
Maybe a sign to stay away? I’ve ignored it anyway.
Games - yes. Total Warhammer with a glorious Brettonia crusade, followed by some Witcher 3, roaming the swamps looking for people to play Gwent with.

I just blocked the turd in the end. [EDIT] This is not a euphonium, you rascals. Your face is a turd euphonium! Morning all, I have been observing my lurking duties of late and spending time binge watching Star Trek TNG again. hibernating with Star Trek is the way to go, mind numbing you into a state of oblivion. Just read on the beeb that Sheryl Crow and a ton of other famous noise makers lost their master tapes in a fire 11 years back and they have only just been told, this feels reminiscent of the fire in the Library of Alexandria. An unfathomable loss of such magnitude is shameful in todays civilised society, I should expect the company responsible (Universal) to have more smarts than to store Masters with backups. A current court case is ongoing ($100+ million) though I shouldn't wonder if the bill tops the Billions at the end of the day. OTTM: not a lot happening.. ganes: none. life: don't talk to me about life! Happy Felice day all

I certainly agree with Kane that Universal Music have performed a valuable public service with regards to Sheryl Crows' music and deserve compensating accordingly, but $100m seems a little generous, perhaps $50m is fair?

Universal have been somewhat naughty. The fire itself is not so bad. the tapes they use are highly flammable and fires have happened elsewhere. I think Sony lost a load of stuff in London a while back to a warehouse fire. Also digitising all the old master tapes is expensive and not without risk itself (Radiohead had a load of stuff copied and nicked recently. It is a good job I did not download that) Keeping it quiet for 11 years is pretty bad. It turns poor practice in to deceit. As well as making it much harder to know precisely what was lost and what is elsewhere. Also some of the tapes would belong to the artists rather than the label depending on the deals.

www.nme.com/news/music/700-artists-universal-music-fire-masters-2515012That is 700 more so over 800 artists affected. They don't even know how many primary masters were lost and what they still have elsewhere. For some people it is likely all the masters and recording tapes have been destroyed. I'd be amazed if they get away with $100m. That is $125,000 per artist. The lawyers for the big groups barely get out of bed for that sort of money.

True, that's probably why they kept it quiet, it would have most likely bankrupted them, and still might with the years of court proceedings pending.
