I haven't done any genetic tests on my origins, but the family tree for one side of my family goes back to 16th century Kent. We were pig farmers.
So I imagine that there's probably some Scandinavian in there somewhere, what with the Viking raids on the Kentish coast.

There's lots of French, lots of pig in the DNA on that coast. 40% Norman French 40% Pig 30% Genuine French 110% Amipal

So that's the French yesterday and the Scots today, I wonder which country Chumbles will go for next? No-one is safe; if you haven't worked it out yet, there's no nation exempt from a kick in the cojones. As I am a mixture of Scots, Irish, Norman French, Saxon and Low German - the typical heritage of an Englishman - I have to allocate parts of my anatomy to the various nationalities. My prick is French, of course: apt to shrink in the face of danger. The English part of me is my memory which is forgetful (especially of the causes of the Opium Wars, or the imposition of colonial boundaries on successor states ignoring coherent tribal entities - a policy which continues to yield a bloody harvest all over the world). No, once my blunderbuss is loaded I have no end of targets ...

Whilst I was brought up in Barnados and other Welfare establishments, I know from my family name on my fathers side that his side goes back to pre 1000 AD in Cheshire and from my mothers maiden name her side goes back to pre 4-5th century AD Picti (pre-Scots) I feel old Gandalf, like too little butter spread over too much bread! *not you!

Ancestry wankers. Afternoon! I have no idea about my genes but have a damn fine 'tache and mutton chop combo and believe my father was a milkman. Jokes, of course. As far as I know I'm mostly 'English' with a sprinkling of Romany from somewhere on my Mothers side. Anyway, games! All of them! Well, quite a few. Went full Danky and bought lots because I have the attention span of a small child. - Tried Project Zomboid, zombie gather/craft/build type game, but it got annoying trying to find somewhere to build a base, before realising that I would be spending ~30 hours gathering wood before I could build anything worth while. Fuck that.
- Played a bit more Slay the Spire. Good for short bursts, can do a play through in less than an hour, but not good for long spurts.
- Tried My Friend Pedro. It's very good, very fun, but I just can't seem to play it well. Might just be due to keyboard and mouse, though. Might try with a controller, see if that's any better.
- Now have Hellblade to try (which was part of Humble Monthly) and another farming sim that accidentally fell into the virtual basket.
Speaking of Humble Monthly, and as a reward for reading all of that, I have a spare Steam key for Moonlighter if anyone wants? Was part of the June bundle but I already own so I'm happy to pass on. It's a Zelda dungeon-a-like game with a shopkeeper sim attached. Very good imo. First one to ask, gets (fairest way, I think). OTTM! Little Black Bird has a chick and our house martins have two! The blackbird seems to have designated me babysitter, just like last year . . . The water gun is ready. Bloody cats.

Ancestry is a bit of a con unless you go down the slightly racist gene testing route. None of you know who your real Dads or dads dads or dads dads dads dads were anyway so its guesswork at best.

I'm pretty damn sure where my mum's side of the family came from otherwise you're probably right.

It was the cotton mills in swanley. There were 8 seats inside and a single toilet, luckily weather was nice so sat outside.

Labourer.
He signed my granddad's birth certificate with an X. So I presume he was illiterate
He had 12 children I think. My grandmother was one of 10 as well. Possibly the 10 and 12 should be other way round.
