Seriously though what was that game the old chatterboxers used to play with their uncles? I remember it being a Yorkshire thing. Or did I just dream this? Was it naked Twister?

Faceless regarding your question about Switch games from the weekend and in addition to Dom's recommendations... ... I'm only putting Switch exclusives, assuming you've already had Dark Souls, Skyrim, Final Fantasy etc. in the past for PlayStation. The must-have triad is still: - BOTW- Mario Odyssey- Mario KartSubject to preferences but nevertheless outstanding are: - Super Smash Bros Ultimate- Mario Maker 2 (which does away with any reason to buy the awkwardly titled New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe) - Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze- Splatoon 2 (+ Octo Expansion DLC) RPG goodness: - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (+ Torna: The Golden Country, which is a standalone game) - Octopath Traveler- Collection of Mana- Dragon Quest XI, Definitive Edition is coming out at the end of September with features that were absent from the PS 4 version Tactical RPG goodness: - Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle- Soon out: Fire Emblem: Three Houses, no reviews yet but previews are looking promising Hack 'n' Slash: - Bayonetta 1 & 2 (and, if you like Platinum games, Astral Chain is coming out at the end of August, looks good but no reviews yet) - Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate- Hyrule Warriors (my first and only Warriors game; according to some the only good Warriors game. I love it, but it's an acquired taste. Tons of content.) Adorable, relaxing puzzle game: - Captain Toad: Treasure TrackerThere will be a lot of new releases in the second half of the year. The Link's Awakening remake and Luigi's Mansion 3 are looking good; Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been delayed until March next year but is also looking good. Currently I'm having a lot of fun with Dragon Quest Builders 2, but it's probably not everyone's cup of tea. I haven't played enough of Starlink (the Switch version has the Star Fox characters) but I like what I've seen so far.

Games chat!
Kevin Toms Football Manager. I have guided Colchester through a dozen games and sit nicely towards the top end of Division 4. My top scorer is Hoddle with 2. They've slightly upgraded the graphics and the font, which is slightly disappointing, as is the addition of a save option, meaning I didn't need to sit up all night or nearly start a fire by leaving the game running for several days. 4 stars.
Lords of Midnight. This is the absolute business, probably a top 5 GOAT for me. The 27 page novella is included as a pdf, and a mapping function has been added, but the absence of a keyboard overlay somewhat damages the immersion. At least i assume it does, as i rage quit when Rorthron the Wise and Corleth the Fey both died on turn one. 4 stars.

@tenthen What do you mean by Mario Maker doing away with the need for Super Mario bros U? Is some of the content included?

Seriously though what was that game the old chatterboxers used to play with their uncles? I remember it being a Yorkshire thing. Or did I just dream this? Kick the new/old/nerdy guy until he hurts... and Tids. Or it might have been Diplomacy. I didn't enjoy the mindless bastardry as often it would be without wit, humour or artistry; so I fucked off and stopped wasting my time. I miss darkquark, and GetOver (who was here, but now isn't). The fact that I think even @mrtiddleshas more of a moral compass makes me wonder if it's borked. "I'm cool ..." I'm not , actually - tomorrow I have an awful period from midday to late pm where I have a couple of minor very painful operations in quick (if I'm lucky) succession. Two of these are cutting out ingrown toenails + digging stuff out of my feet followed by the usual terrible process of treatment on my legs. This should have been last week, but of course they fucked up the timing so that they will troop through my heatbox on one of the hotter days of the year ... So I will likely be absenting my increasingly bad tempered, stressed and overheated self lest I regress to a whimpering idiot in print (I know, how will you tell the difference)...

Also, what dominicorourke said. Why does Mario Maker do away with the other game?

@tenthen What do you mean by Mario Maker doing away with the need for Super Mario bros U? Is some of the content included? Well, that game has always been a bit middling (by 2D Mario standards), but now you can have countless courses in exactly that style, including ones that you can design yourself if you are so inclined. The tools are all there, and some like the day/night mechanics that can be added make for more interesting content. I haven't seen it yet, I guess it would be boring, but someone could certainly faithfully recreate the entire game in Mario Maker. I suppose the only saving grace is that in that game the couch co-op works right now, which cannot be said for the terrible Mario Maker online.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to be on holiday at the Cornish seaside. That's the swimming trunks packed away for the duration.

Hello
Ganes: Was given £2 free credit on the Google Play store so downloaded The Bard's Tale costing me the princely sum of 89p. I vaguely remember playing the original game many, many moons ago. Worth the 89p price tag for The Beer Song alone...
4 stars.

Oh...easy come, easy go I guess.
Having downloaded the game to my phone I decided it might be easier to play on my tablet so I downloaded it on there.
The game itself downloaded fine, but the additional data download kept hanging. So I decided to uninstall it from my tablet....oops, a mistake.
Google then also deleted the game from my phone; kindly refunded me my 89p, but burned my £2.00 free credit so I can't re-buy the game without paying £2.89.
Thanks a lot Google.
