First school run of the new term. The child's male teacher is what you'd expect from a male primary teacher. A kind of uncool Brandon Flowers vibe. And I'm aware people.in glass houses etc. I'm being unkind and I'm sure he's very nice. And his facial hair is grown to make him look older than his 14 years..
Hello. TV. Schitts Creek. Who binned that? Rolling? Actually gets amusing from epiosode 4.
Games. Divisioning 2. SHD-tec pickups and a small mission.
Fantasy books eh? Marvellous. Far too thick paperbacks that fall apart after some sweaty nerd bends the spine after borrowing from the library.

BDT was go. A success. I’m really hoping the caff has some decent breakfast on.
Today I’ve gone with my usual cheerful mostly black attire with a little colour pop of grey floral and big boots. What’s that you say? 26 degrees, scorching sun and a slight hangover? Marvellous. I’m gone die.

Yesterday I half-followed the cricket until about quarter past four, and nothing seemed to be happening apart from weather. Then I went for a walk on a beach, had chips, went to the pub, watched some Deadwood and played some Wipeout.
Did I miss much in the cricket?

I ate some vegetarian food last night, and now I feel slightly unwell.

No. You can do the same today, except you shouldn't half follow it.

I ate some vegetarian food last night, and now I feel slightly unwell. I suppose a chip supper with scraps sort of counts as vegetarian.

@ Stephen Donaldson chat: I'd forgotten about all the dodgy stuff, which does sound a bit much from the plot summaries on wikipedia. I remember really liking the Gap books, though.
Games: none except a few games of Apex. One win, including the winning kill.
Telly: been watching S2 of Mindhunter, which is better than S1 but still feels hollow and voyeuristic. Ticks all my boxes in other words.
OTTM: feeling rough today but all this talk of booze and chips has given me a good idea for lunch.

I suppose a chip supper with scraps sort of counts as vegetarian. "chip supper" When did you get posh? 1974 mate. Moved from Yardley to (the edge of) Sutton Coldfield. Awroight. I believe our friends beyond the wall refer to fish & chips as a fish supper, so without the fish it is a chip supper. Scraps are the bits of batter left in the fryer.

That is correct. Fish and chips = fish supper; sausage and chips = sausage supper; chips and chips = chip supper. Use of 'supper' in any other context is unacceptably posh.

How do you refer to the late night meal snacks you have well after dinner?

I would refer to that by the name of whatever it was: kebab, bit of toast, rotisserie chicken, etc.
Breakfast = breakfast Lunch = lunch Dinner aka Tea = dinner or tea
There are no other words for meals.

I ate some vegetarian food last night, and now I feel slightly unwell. I suppose a chip supper with scraps sort of counts as vegetarian. I eat very little meat nowadays. That's the big advantage in ready meals... but it's one up on hospital where the food was so bad I could only eat the yoghurt and ice cream... perhaps that's why I dropped 6 stone 7 pounds in weight. I overheard one of the nurses asking the dietician what I should eat: "Anything he wants to - he's dying of inanition". 6' 1" and 10 stone 4 pounds. Even now I am surprised I'm still alive. But it was really irritating to have a free pass to eat anything I wanted and the food be so bloody awful I pretty much had anorexia. Apparently there are plans to put Pru Leith on the menu; a bit bony I would have thought. As if. Hospitals are supposed to feed and water a patient on £3 a day. The Radio 4 news guy said per meal, automatically correcting what he thought was impossible - it is, mate. 3 nutritious, palatable meals a day with all snacks including all labour, ingredients and on costs? That's why if someone you love goes into hospital you MUST arrange to bring food into them; I would have killed for a crispy bacon sandwich. Waiting for my Friday crucifixion ... but at least here I can eat what I want!

Brekkie is brekkie. Brunch is brunch. Elevenses are important. Lunch might sometimes be dinner. Dinner might sometimes be tea. Supper is what happens when everyone else has gone to bed. Midnight snack is what happens when I have gone to bed and got back up, and almost certainly involves cheese or leftovers.
I can't believe you all forgot about elevenses.

And after Jofra Archer's bowling heroics comes the familiar England batting collapse... Even Extras still isn't off the mark for us after 8 overs, and he's usually a reliable if slow scorer.
