Well Greta is in New York. I doubt she is disrupting anything in London.
Also a big part of the point is that business as usual in London is what has fucked everything up. I think the vast majority (including me) have very little idea how much individual daily activities that have been normalised into the structures of UK society need to change to minimise the impact of climate change. Most of us vaguely hope most of the time that a few solar farms and wind farms in far off country areas of which we know little will be enough. As soon as you look into it in any detail this seems unlikely.
Assuming the science is correct (and I have no reason to doubt it) and the likely effects occur it is pretty clear some fundamental changes need to be made. The problem is that they seem to be so massive most of us have little idea where to start, so don't. Also seeing everyone else carrying on as normal makes it seem we can't really be doing anything wrong. Plus anything we can do seems so ineffectual it is not worth doing. I think this is sort of correct in the short term, but over a period of years it can only increase the problems.

My guess is that for anything to seriously change there would have to be a major disaster in a (first world) port city. Repeated flooding leaving it effectively uninhabitable. If New York, London or Miami or maybe Shanghai were regularly badly damaged this might force governments to change things radically. Until then I suspect the pace f change will be glacial*.
* pre-global warming glacial, not the fast melt stuff we have today.

My response to climate change is currently to consider a third skiing trip this year, whilst there’s still snow. I absolutely am the problem. On the other hand I’ve never had a car or kids, so there’s that. Plus the big pile of unread paperbacks probably counts as a carbon capture system. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got to render this dolphin into lamp oil.

Tomorrow's D***y M**l front page should be interesting. I reckon they’ll try and ignore it completely. It’ll give too many of their readers a headache however they spin it. They’ll go with something about Corbyn wanting to force you to adopt foreign children driving house prices down or the rain.

The Scottish Sun do the best job of sweeping politics under the carpet. I think it was when prorogation was announced, I checked and the top story mentioning brexit on the website was about a guy falling off his bike in the background of a report. Top journalism.

I've been excused from Jury Duty. On the "plus" side this means I can go to a funeral on Fri. on the negative side I'll need to go to a 4hr meeting tomorrow. I had hoped for one day in court to avoid the meeting...
There's no pleasing some folk is there?

I had to do jury duty for a coroners inquest. I thought it might be interesting, but I was very wrong.

This is probably a bad time to mention I'm considering sending a piece of paper to the other side of the world utilising aeroplanes and various couriers. The thing is I really need that resplendent signature in blue ink.

I'd have expected a Glaswegian to be familiar with the basics of getting a next day court appointment.

Someone in Kimmy Schmidt mentioning that Titus refuses to do jury duty because he "has no peers" was one of my favourite jokes in the show.

On an unrelated note, has anyone played the Nier DLC? Is it worth it?

Babyfark, have you considered just forging the signature? It would save loads of time, and once you've done it you'll start to reduce the stigma around this kind of fraud. There really is no downside.

The Supreme Court have sided with usurping Remainers over the people
That's how the Torygraph are playing things. I can't read the story as I refuse to register with them.
I expect Der Sturmer will follow a similar line. I do not willingly go the Mail website though so I do not know.

“I got my hair back in the back and there’s even new hairs growing in the front and it’s getting a lot thicker”, not my words but the words of ‘Robbert’ in a hair clinic advert, absolute filth and perhaps a metaphor for.... I’m back!
After getting home mid afternoon yesterday I slept for 16 hours and am now on route to a work conference outside of the M25 safe zone, breakfast included. I’ve got my Switch lite, a terrible case of jet lag and a hotel room all to myself. Then back home tomorrow and a presentation to the board on Thursday that I have yet to write. A sure fire recipe for success.
I also have an actual trip to Japan pending, let the weeks of intensive Japanese classes begin!

Completely off topic; found a stunning singer / songwriter whose contralto range and quality is stunning - added to which she is quite stunningly beautiful... why isn't she getting air time? Fantastic power in that voice - a shoo in for a Bond theme and title is this... Definitely listen on decent kit or 'phoned...
I'm off to find where I can buy her stuff...
Edit: Blimey! "Ditch" is very err... odd... "Alibi (3 a.m.)" is exceptionally powerful - think Lana del Rey but much more and sharper.
Second Edit: I took the trouble to copy all of her stuff to a USB stick and put the tracks through a Roberts STREAM93i which is brilliant and the tracks don't play as well, although they do on wtft broadcast stream. I think that they won't do well on a radio playlist ...

Baby! Fortnite botsMaybe a chance for you to finally claim that elusive Fortnite solo win. I don't play Fortnite any more as it became a game for the weak and feeble minded. And I don't have one win, I have three thank you very much.
