In other news, with the weather closing in and the nights getting crisper I’m seriously thinking about getting into EVE online. I’ve had a few failed attempts in the past, but really space spreadsheets, what’s not to like?
OTTM -Dragon quest on the lite. I really do appreciate the lite, it’s much more kind on the hands than the big boy unit, and I basically only play with myself handheld, no TV group sessions

Morning!
Ganes: I stayed up too late to play more Link's Awakening, but at least I made some progress. Now out of the Catfish's Maw, ready for the Face Shrine. This is the point where all but a very small part of the map becomes accessible, so Link's got his work cut out. He is, however, already pretty OP at this point.
I was thinking about how the density of secrets on a small map and the ingenuity with which they are hidden makes this game the ideal first Zelda game. Nothing to do with the fact that it was my first Zelda, oh no. But it really teaches you to poke your nose everywhere and to recognise the subtle hints that something is worthy of investigation. It's maybe because of this that I got so much out of BOTW, while Bloggie (RIP) had a lot of difficulties with exactly that aspect of the game.
(It has to be said that they made some things a bit easier in the remake, like, now you can see heart pieces in the water?! It's very pretty, but in my days you had to work hard for your heart pieces, bloody kids, get off my lawn *shakes stick* has anyone seen my glasses?)
Teevee: Back to old Midsomer Murders for now.

Is the switch any good? The price drop on the lite has got me interested and my gaming time is shortened a bit recently so mobile gaming is much more appealing

Roast pork with crackling in the oven. Carrots, cabbage and cauliflower prepped and in the steamer ready to be switched on. Roast potatoes in. Cheat aunt bessies Yorkshire to go in later. Gravy to make.

Yes the switch is great. On the couch avoiding the family, on the train avoiding the other commuters, at your lunch break avoiding your workmates.
Also ideal for couch co-op games.
Though not the new mini one for that.
Some wee guy in the restaurant we're in playing one while his folks eat/chat.

The switch is a godsend if you can’t get much time on the TV, which I don’t. But there are also games only on the switch that make it worthwhile.
