I've just realised 79% is basically 4 stars. Guardian is well ahead of the curve on this one. Really dialing it in for the Outer Worlds review over all these years.

Hullo. I woke with some painful abdominal cramps this morning. I'm hoping it's just a bit of wind as I ate a whole heap 'o' beans last night.* * with cheesy mash, a 5oz steak & peas. Too early for a livener? I don't think you'll have time for one, considering your stomach issues.. ps - don't forget to open a window and put you cigarette out!

Came in to work to news of possible reductions in opening hours and redundancies. Marvellous.
You didn't fill in your universal credit application on time as the library was closed? Likely story...
Best blow some money on Brexit then, eh.

Morning all! Gamesblog - nope. TVblog - South Park. Amigablog - my terrain generator now starts with mountains. It then runs through the array to add foothills. Next step: grassland and shallows. Really enjoying the coding; gets the brain fizzing. Although I could do with a better editor, as the default one for Blitz is a custom thing that doesn't necessarily fit with system standards. EMACS?

Emacs is a good operating system, lacking only a decent text editor.

Morning. Afternoon. Whatever. I finally feel human again after 14 days of cold / flu. Games: None OTTM: My Dad thinks the reason he's coughing up phlegm in the morning is because he used to smoke. About 50 years ago he gave up. I almost pointed out to him that any damage he did to his body is long since repaired or he'd have already died from something smoking related. But then remembered he's an idiot. So decided better of it. Isn't the 10000 hours thing a load of made up bobbins? And yes to Felice, lodger and poker, the two aren't mutually exclusive to my knowledge?

Anyone ever done an Indie go go thing?
I made a bold decisive move and have done an indie go go thing. In March I will have a new electric bike delivered from Murica. Mildly semi-legally overpowered in the motor dept but i dont think 'They' were thinking about hills when they made the rules. As long as the indie go go thing works everything will be fine.

Commiserations crankcaller. I'm in the same boat atm. Restructuring, possible redundancies etc. On the plus side it's a great excuse to sound out colleagues about some unofficial strike action or minor acts of subversion.

No you won't. That's my experience with indie go go anyway. Backed three things, received one.

Combining books on biological chemistry with those on chemical biology? Placing Cameron's biography in the non-fiction section? That sort of subversion?

Does anything say I have more money than sense than an electric bike?

Apart from an electric bike bought though an indie kickstarter scheme obviously.

Apart from an electric bike bought though an indie kickstarter scheme obviously. Im saving 42%. Buying it at full price would be more extravagant and expensive? Electric bikes are great. Why would I want to combine exercise and commuting? Faster than cars across town and dont have to wear lycra and sweat.
Brompton people are the worst.

Bless you. There is actually a version of EMACS supplied with Workbench 3.0 - it's not great, though.

Best blow some money on Brexit then, eh. Urgh. Hope this doesn't come to pass. Fuck. I'd never thought I'd wished for a Luxembourg politician who's partial to a liquid lunch (not that there's anything wrong with that) to be Prime Minister, but I heartily agree with Juncker's "waste of time and energy" remark. He forgot to mention the waste of money. Meanwhile in the actual Prime Minister's own constituency a hospital is crumbling because the band aid is coming off. www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/oct/22/boris-johnson-drawn-into-row-over-unsafe-hillingdon-hospital(I keep on misreading the "Peter Pan impatient, no, inpatient ward".) Next weekend I'll be donating through the extra life charity to a children's hospital in San Diego. I used to feel so smug that our children's hospital don't need that kind of charity because it's the NHS, but not any longer.

Hello, Today is my Monday, but it's also my Wednesday. I might just split the difference and call it Tuesday. Started Return of the Obra Dinn last night. It was ok I think. I couldn't really work out what was going on. The Preferred Mammal noticed the new icon for Return of the Obra Dinn, so I showed him the trailer. I also explained Lucas Pope's last game Papers, Please to him. Don't think he got the "Glory to Arstotzka" thing, though. Obra Dinn sounds like an ideal game for me. Totally obscure gameplay is right up my street. Still got to finish Link's Awakening, but I think I'm ready to pull the plug soon on the dungeon maker. The other night I got another chamber stone from catching a record 63.25 inches fish. I'm actually still having fun with Dampé's challenges, but as soon as they become impossible I'm oot. I have no desire to get all the chamber stones as the reward is just rupees and bragging rights. I also worry because I have to build some courses in Mario Maker for the aforementioned Extra Life charity event and I haven't even started yet.

Saving 42% but 60% of the bike will be missing so the net saving is negative.
