My parents thought they had mice this morning although they had not seen any.
So I ordered humane traps from Jeff on free same day delivery.
When they turned up I went to parents.
Loaded traps with delicious Boursin and placed one in their spare bedroom where the chewing a mat had happened.
I was able to identify this as most likely spot as the mouse was spotted sat on a toy bear on a radiator, looking highly pleased with life.

We went back after a coffee to see the mouse now in the trap happily munching on delicious Boursin.
Anyway it has been released 2-3 miles away from my parents.
Hopefully there won't be any more mice as I am reluctant to supply them with delicious Boursin.
There are a couple of traps out just in case.
It was (and hopefully still is) a field mouse and decidedly on the cute side as rodents go.
Made the evening more interesting than just watching gillette soccer special anyway.

We had mice at a different property many years ago.
There was one in my bedroom about 3 am, scuttling. Which is not acceptable.
I fetched the cat which was asleep and utterly uninterested in mousing.
We ended up chasing the mouse out from behind the wardrobe.
It ran straight in to the cat which just about woke up enough to grab it.
I hurriedly dumped the cat out the window (there was a flat roof outside) before it released the mouse.
I have not seen more energy efficient mousing.

It would have to be a large trap, but I'm pretty sure you could catch Shenguin in a humane Boursin trap.
There is no way he would resist even if he realised it was a trap.
