Morning all.
Went to a fireworks display at the local school last night. Lots of kids running around in the dark with foam light poles. And mulled wine.
Alas, I was driving, but the mulled wine smelt good.

TVblog - some terrible "tiny house" thing on Netflix, followed by a South Park. And then TNG's The Wounded, where we see Marc Alaimo's first take on a Cardassian - a very good episode.

Games: Yes! Couple of games of Fortnite, after a break of about 6 months. Either I've improved considerably by not playing it, or it's somehow a lot easier. 6 kills in two games, including one with a pickaxe, and a top 3 finish.

I’m back! I just saw someone try to actually close the doors on the tube by pressing the close button at the door. What a lunatic. This country.
After travelling 36 hours I’ve slept for about twenty hours with a break for dinner. Got that Death standing installing for later.
Whilst waiting in various airports I got back into autochess and was feeling pretty good about absolutely smashing the competition four games in a row, until I realised I had it in the simplified learn how to play mode and was being matched against complete newcomers. It was like Boris Johnson playing rugby/football with those hobbits.

Finally a night with a solid 8 hours of sleep.
Weather: dark and dismal but luckily no rain of Biblical/Yorkshire/Biblical Yorkshire proportions.
Games: LM3, another floor completely cleared. Had to go back once more as I'd managed to miss an achievement. It's a bit unfortunate that achievements can only be checked in E. Gadd's lab, but I appreciate that rather than being deserted the floor you've cleared is populated by ghosts, so you can have a few more battles.
As an update, the controls are absolutely fine. I no longer have any difficulty recalling Gooigi and the reviewers who were complaining about the controls are idiots who didn't figure out that there's an alternative control scheme in case you don't like the first one.
I still haven't tried the multiplayer Scarescraper, but I can see that there's an extra section in the achievements for it, so will definitely switch to that at one point. I can see that @smellavision and Bloggie's ghost have been playing the game, maybe we can get a 'box team of Gooigis together.
OTTM: no.

Ah, I'm sorry to I'm the one to tell you this, but clearly you haven't watched Jim Sterling's recent video on the use of bots in Fortnite and other games: I don't play many multiplayer online games because my gaming time is so limited that I always feel guilty for not making any progress on the humongous backlog of single player games. So I still haven't got around to checking out Fortnite and now I suppose I never will. I probably would be mistaken for a bot with particularly stupid AI anyway, but for me the attraction of an online multiplayer is knowing that I'm playing with/against real people. Bots have no place in online play, particularly since the only reason for their addition is an attempt to make you spend more money by getting you more 'engaged' and by functioning as walking advertisements for a game's microtransactions. Fortnite isn't the only game with this shady practice. I don't play mobile games (on a mobile, that is, happy to play one that's come to console or PC, as long as it's good), so I didn't even bother downloading the utter kart crash that is Mario Kart Tour, but I wasn't surprised this "game" had you racing against AI disguised as real people as well. In summary: blech. |

Had a wee run around in the dark zone in TD2 while the child was at gymnastics.

Teamed up with a guy who revived me but he kept going rogue so I bailed on him. Two frenchies kept killing me when trying to extract. Apart from that side of things it was good fun. Was mainly in to kill NPC's for the clan weekly challenge.
Possibly some switch later.

Look, it was quite nice and sunny earlier. Chilly, but not windy, and a gloriously glowing orb in the sky.
I know "sharing is caring" but I don't really want Saltdean to look like Sheffield.
Amigablog - I've been coding again. Thanks to some forum help, I now have a 32 colour dual-playfield screen working, with all the colours in the right place. BOOM!

Evening all.
Nightshift two of four under way.
Last night consisted of finishing off Daredevil s3, starting Shameless (USA edition), deciding I didn't like Shameless USA so dropping it after 3 episodes, starting The End of the F*****g World and a small smattering of work in between. Can't complain too much I guess.
Tonight will be more of TEotFW, as the first few episodes were very good, and watching one/ both of those Youtube wankers windmilling each other. Possibly a bit of Switch gaming in between as I have new beefy joycons to try out (the ones that look like an Xbox pad chopped in half).
