Morning. I'm very lucky I've been off work since 23rd Dec but getting up this morning was difficult. Off to jury duty via cex to trade in a dualshock4 and possibly McDonalds for breakfast. Though I'll immediately regret that and wish I'd gone somewhere better. MrTiddles in the words of 80's synth-pop sensations Yazoo - Don't go...

Oh. Games. Far Cry 5. Really want the big snipers rifle. Need to go hunting for more pelts to trade. Got a dug! He's a wild wee guy and has attacked all-sorts.
TV. Dracula. As Destry said the final episode was a bit of a let down. 3.5 stars.
OTTM. Windy out this morning.

I'm not certain cex will accept a McDonalds trade in. Worth a try though.

Christmas: But a distant memory. All the decorations are down and you wouldn't know Xmas had even happened if it wasn't for the kid asking for his presents each morning and demanding to know where Santa is.
Gaming: Some more Witcher 3, though I am thinking of taking a break for a week or so as it is all a bit samey and the long dialogue exchanges are getting a bit tedious.
Tiddles: Just come back.

Ok, I’ll edit that.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Hello! I’m back in work for the first full week since 25 November and I’m not happy about it.
Dracula: sub-Guy-Ritchie eastend nonsense guvnor. 2 stars, if that. The best bit was the braindead-esqe animation with the corpses in the boxes. The most hopeless bit was the Chucky thing and the random disposal of characters, I get that you don’t have to stay loyal to the source, but having a frenzied turnover of characters seems a bit wasteful, given how well crafted the original is in that way. I understand there’s only 3 episodes at least.
To be honest I pretty much gave up on this 20 minutes into Ep2 and starred reading a book about graveyards instead, which was considerably more engaging. Necropolis. Four stars. Recommend.

Good morning.
Returned Saturday night by train from Edinburgh. Before I set out on this journey I had failed to notice that Beardie had lost the West Coast rail franchise to Avanti. As it turns out the trains and the staff are the same and have simply been repainted. So if you are feeling nostalgic for smelly Virgin Trains toilets, you're in luck.
On the train back, as we were approaching Lancaster, there was an announcement over the tannoy asking any qualified Avanti train driver to make themselves known at the front of the train. This prompted me to make ill-received "don't eat the fish" quips whilst the Preferred Mammal volunteered as he's always wanted to drive a train. Sadly, he's not a trained train driver.
The poor train attendant, who earlier had gone through the very crowded train to make a note of empty seats and announce the relevant seat numbers over the loudspeaker ("I feel like a Bingo caller") then told us the truth we've been expecting: the train driver had fallen ill. No word on whether he'd vomited over the controls.
So we the train stood for a while in Lancaster station before the poor train attendant announced that he'd be sitting at the front with the equally unfortunate driver in order to give enough moral support to reach Preston where we received a new train driver.
Other stuff happened over the festive period, the most unfortunate one being that the elderly relative only had two days to enjoy her stay in the expensive care home before falling ill with flu and pneumonia and almost dying. She's over the worst now but still in hospital, which unfortunately isn't particularly close to us, so I will continue to keep a low profile, but let me join the general mood by saying AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH

Oh, and tell Tids not to be daft and that Felice just made a joke that I liked. That won't work, my silver hat maker... It's like my Mum saying "When are you going to grow up and stop playing games" it's very likely to have the opposite effect. Oh. Felice's infelicity with the language and insensitive 'sense of humour' are the hallmarks of an established member of this community - taking umbrage at our resident Fußmund is like pissing in the wind; not only fruitless, but more likely to damage yourself ... As Kenny would say "All in the best possible taste"...

Hullo. After some reflection, I feel I must apologise to Felice for calling him sanctimonious, it was very wrong of me.
OTTM: I'm waiting for a tradesperson to fix the beading on the front door, I am assured that they will be here today.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGGGHHH Cough cough cough I have limboed out of work today. I did half a day on Thurs and Fri and was in briefly yesterday. As a vector of infection I would not be that welcome anyway. I had a terrible night's sleep which was rudely interrupted by the phone at 10.40 am. Plus when I got up I discovered the cricket is on.

Hello all. My Sunday involved a trip to Scotney Castle, which ended up being quite a trek. Still, good to get out and visit another National Trust property. Gamesblog - DQB2, and I've returned to the original island! A big stone tablet has told me to build a river and some meadows, so the area is now no longer a blasted hellscape but a more pleasing scene of tranquility. My one mission so far has been to visit another island to nab some chickens. TVblog - also been watching Dracula. The chap playing him is clearly revelling in the opportunity. 4* OTTM - a blog without MrTiddles is no blog at all. Welcome back.
