Good morning Chattergrumps.
Last night in my dream I was a student again and found accommodation in some student dorm flat from which the previous tenants had been evicted after leaving a lot of grubby stuff behind that I had to deal with. It was a notable dream because I also had a PS4 that I then lost in a bet because (true to life) I was terrible at playing some game on it. So in my dream I went out to look for a replacement, something like the PS4 bundle with Death Stranding I had seen on offer last Black Friday (I thought in my dream). However, all PS4s were priced at 450 quid which seemed a bit much for a replacement, considering (as I argued with myself in my dream) that the PS5 would be out soon.
Eventually I bought a new PS4 for £450 and was just thinking what other improvements could be made when the alarm rang.
I want to know what gives my subconscious the right to jack up prices like that.

Buying a new shirt for a funeral that's coming up. My fat neck / slim frame combo is a fucking nightmare.
Games. A few rounds of Apex Legends. TV. Someone on Twitch playing Apex. He was a total machine and his team won.

I'll sell you a PS4 and throw in death stranding for nothing. £350. You're saving money!
{Edit}or swap you one for a shirt that actually fits.

Thank you for the kind offer, but it's probably better if I don't have anything of value to gamble away. Finding funeral clothes that fit is more like a nightmare.

Beautiful day ... legs on fire, lunch half cooked because I checked the Amazon tracker and 4m in to cooking the map comes up... waiting for the SOB to stoop chatting up a housewife in Oak Close a mile away... nope, still '8 stops' I bet his SatNav has screwed up... the pranny has gone into every street, close and walk in that bit of the estate ... he's still '8 stops' away, but now he's in the close next to mine edit 1: 20m lunch becoming cold and more like tea; 13 roads and nought delivered ... edit 2: 35 minutes - it's no longer giving the count "a few more stops"... edit 3: 55 minutes - when it shows 8 stops, it's about 15 minutes to get to me. I suspect that the driver is having a nervous breakdown - and he hasn't even got to me yet ... It's probably this pair ... edit 4: Oh god, they're moving further away... why'd I cut through that fucking lead?
edit 5: Root 4-25!? Blimey... and arguably SA's 4 top batsmen ... And of course I am still waiting

And lunch tea over. I am going to open the new mouse. What can possibly go wrong?

I actually died in the Witcher 3, some hell beast in a cave. I also crammed in two matches of Apex where we failed to get close to winning in either.

Surely it should read " Parpetrator expelled after referee airs grievances" It's a pity comments aren't open. You could have earned yourself a Guardian Pick. Or a FRANKing.

Evening All. IASIP latest series is now on Netflix. That's tonight's night shift sorted. Last night I watched the UFC. Not normally my thing but thought I'd give it a go. Think I would've been disappointed if I'd paid for it, £20 for 40 seconds is a bit steep. Ganes! Rimworld colony 4 still going ok. The manic depressive who's constantly on the verge of a breakdown is getting annoying though. Operation human shield might be applied on the next raider attack. Chumbles, I hope you applied the old 'it was like this on delivery' excuse with the broken mouse? Jeff rarely argues.

Nice idea but the Stanley knife hack marks are pretty obvious, and I am wary of obviously committing fraud; "Jeff rarely argues" is not "Jeff never argues"... I'd have nightmares about a cellmate...

I wonder how Chumbles is getting on liberating his new mouse without severing its tail. Done it... daft package design; the two plastic patches securing each end are obviously designed to function as seals, they're nigh on impossible for my nails to unpick. And I suspect most folks would use a blade to cut through. If you're hamfisted and the very sharp blade slices into the top of the box, directly against it is the lead. A double fold of the underlying card would make it much lees likely ... well, that's my feeble story...

Quiet in here this weekend.
I've tried some of that PUBG (courtesy of the free ps now trial), it feels quite bad on console. Trying to pick things up or open doors is a long drawn out affair.
Tokyo Fire Emblem Mirage System is top banana, very embarrassing and so thankfully handheld, and keeps things moving at a pace unusual in a jrpg. Theres actually a scene where a female character is introduced and it does a slow pan up from her feet, stopping at her chest. classic nintendo.
In books news, has any one read those Sallh Rooney books? Normal people, classic people, ordinary people, that sort of thing. I read a brief synopsis once and concluded it was mostly about the dull interactions and general worries of some self absorbed white upper middle class twenty somethings.
Also Jeff Vandermeer has gone and done that thing he does again - I knew he'd put the dead astronauts in his giant bear book for a reason and now he's written the spin off book about it. I think, i didn't bother reading the guardian article. I forget what my point was originally but it seemed like a very out of place attempt to create some imagery that would work well in an entirely hypothetical film/tv spin off.

I've been looking at that, a crossover between SMT/Persona and Fire Emblem, yes please. It has been mentioned in reviews that there are some of the less desirable JRPG tropes but wth.
