I have terrible stomach pains. Send Ibuprofen.
Why did I come to work? Why?

Ganes: no.
TV: The Good Fight. It's OK I suppose.
Omelettes: no.
OTTM: Last night I read a relatively convincing theory that 'Toxic' by Britney Spears was written about Noel Fitzpatrick, the guy off the vet programme on channel 4. What the hell next? If everything is connected under the surface, then maybe everything Kane has been trying to tell us is true.

I have terrible stomach pains. Send Ibuprofen. Why did I come to work? Why? You shouldn't take ibuprofen for stomach pains. If you're absolutely certain it's a muscular pain in the abdomen, then it's ok. If it's a pain in your digestive system, you should definitely not take ibuprofen or aspirin for it.
Edit: now, BabyfarkmcGeezak, what have your bowel movements been like over the last couple of days? Loose? Too firm? Any unusual darkness or stickiness? Any obvious blood in stool or vomit? Is your urine particularly dark or red or is urination causing pain or discomfort? Any constipation? Any swelling in the stomach? Do you feel nausea? Have you been sick? Have you been gassy? Is the pain worse if you press on the affected area? Have you taken any antacids for it? Did they have an effect? Is there a chance you might be pregnant? Have you previously suffered or do you have any family history of ectopic pregnancies? Did the pain come on quite suddenly? Is the pain very bad? Is the pain constant or nearly constant? Do you have a fever or feel unusually shivery? Have you been drinking enough water? Did you have curry and beer last night? Have you recently received a trauma (punch, stab wound, gunshot, or similar) to the abdomen? Have you recently ingested anything unusual, such as batteries or razor blades? Have you recently eaten a lot more food than usual?
If the answer is yes to any of the questions in bold, especially if it's yes to several or it's been accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation then you might want to consider seeking medical advice sooner rather than later.
You can take paracetamol for stomach pain, though if it's bad enough to require it, I'd want to know the cause of the pain. Basically, if it's sever acute appendicitis, a strangulated hernia, pancreatitis, peritonitis, other severe infection, ruptured spleen, or a tear to the stomach or digestive tract then you could be dead within 24 hours without medical treatment. If it's something else, you probably won't die within the next 24 hours, but maybe don't bother booking a restaurant for Saturday night yet.

Bloody right you should not do so. I never take Ibuprofen... Doctor's orders - it's a bastard for causing bleeding in the intestines. Paracetamol for pain; or an antacid if it's acid reflux.

*I won't, but I have recently been working on my bedside manner, so I now say things like that.

Morning all!
Today, the real-life building work continues. Hopefully the wall will get finished today. Then tomorrow, work can start on removing the existing windows. Powerful stuff.
Gamesblog - DQB2. The monsters assaulted my base with one of their elite battalions. Luckily for me, is added to the defences that had already been built. It was a slaughter, to my benefit.
TVblog - It's Always Sunny.

I typed out an anecdote about a time I had to sit through an argument between a pharmacist and a GP about whether or not Ibuprofen was safe, but when I read it back it bored me to tears.
No games.

Hi.
Those gherkin chips were, well, gherkin chips. Strips of gherkin lovingly fried in a thick batter to resemble a chip. Salty. I realised afterwards that I'd eaten just over 2 portions. I am a fat salty bap.

If Matt Hancock ever reads this shit, he'll chop up the contract for diagnosis by Amazon Alexa and just tell NHS patients to send their medical queries here instead.

Morning all! Still not dead. Made me train with seconds to spare this morning, but I leapt panther like from the platform onto the train about a minute before it left. I'm sure I looked like a young James Bond chasing down a Russian spy.
Games - no.
TV - winter watch - lovely stuff. top banana.
Games - I've been watching the lads play through some 90s PC blade runner game. powerfully racist. 4 stars

Talking of Doctors . . . I watched the latest Dr Who last night. I wasn't that happy that the G published a front-page website headline that included a spoiler yesterday before I'd watched it. Fuckers. There really is a spoiler below. Probably don't read if you're planning on watching it. It was a bit less shit, but still really shit. Captain Jack ffs, pointless cameo tacked on to the plot in service of a narrative arc that really undermined the already weak story. Companions so blandly written that the Doctor has to remind them what their jobs are irl; there's barely a single line uttered by any of them that couldn't equally be said by one of the others. The current Doctor, I want to like her, but she's basically an alcohol free beer. The new Doctor was much more impressive, and handled the appalling script and plotting as well as anyone could have. I hope she sticks around. I just wish the G hadn't blown the reveal in advance.

The G's obsession with Dr Who as a cultural phenomenon and political bellwether has probably reached saturation point now. I'd like them to switch it up with some episode recaps of the A-Team or Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA on ITV4.

I actually feel a bit better now and the constant pain is now only sporadic. It seems being largely immobile and lethargic has helped, so perhaps it was best I did come to work after all.
