We’re all the same height lying down. I'd definitely be shorter than you fatties.

Well, I'm probably the shortest at 5'5. The gender gap on full display. mlu, it's not easy for tall women either. That said, back in school one of the shortest guys (shorter than me) went out with one of the tallest girls and everyone thought that they were such a cute couple and they took the "he needs to stand on a box to kiss her" remarks with good humour, pretending they'd never heard that one before. Absolutely this too, yes. I've met many a guy taller than me, even in the 6'+ range who don't "like" tall women, and the real tragedy is I love tall women, and a few of them even like me, have one ex who is 5'11".
Hen - 5'5" isn't short for a UK woman over the age of about 40, it's only recently they've shot up in height.

I’m 175cm. We’re all the same height lying down. 5' 9" eh? No I won't lie down for you. I have my standards. On a more seriously intended note: One of my regular Nurseys is ca. 6'; she's an ex CID Sergeant who's only problem as a Nursey is that she is too gentle. After 24 years in the force she'd had enough of the mighty clashing egos and the blatant cynicism, became a carer whilst doing her nursing degree and is in her final qualifying years. Unfortunately she has chosen careers which are vital for us, and for which her qualities should be prized; also where the blokes were cynical, misogynistic shits or latterly her colleagues are nearly all women and those that aren't are married. She's no oil painting, but far from ugly and self-conscious. She's a really lovely person... She plays saxophone in a brass band, but has few other social contacts. I'm trying to get her to join a pub quiz team, or dominoes team. So she gets into a male environment, with a ready made excuse to talk with the blokes around her. Any real suggestions which might help her meet real, halfway decent blokes? Or should I stop trying to help her?

tenthenemy: you would exactly fit under my arm; I've always preferred women shorter than me, my poor old Mum was 4' 11" and I guess my embedded* female stereotype is a woman between 5' and 5' 7"... and unsurprisingly all my PMs have been in that range. Shorter feels like molestation and looks disturbingly like it in a mirror; taller and they abuse me something chronic. Stood up with no transport 12 miles from home, and then there was the tall one with whips, rack, leather shackles ... both required me to master them they said and I am far too gentle a soul to do that. I've never hit a woman, even under the most intense provocation. * Naughty

Chumbles My only question is; does she appreciate your efforts? That's genuinely not relevant. If someone is applying a form of cardboard sandpaper to your open wounds they're pretty much in the driving seat. She would not have divulged all that information if she didn't want to. So suggestions welcome; even if you tell me to shut up because you think I am likely to do more harm than good. But I hate seeing someone trapped / restricted like this ...

I have thoughts but will wait until I sort them out and can use a keyboard. Though an initial one is that if someone tells you something it doesn't necessarily mean they want an answer.

I'm intrigued by Tiddles 'The Lad' tales, but I've missed the Backstory. Do you live next to some kind of Asylum Tiddles?
I'm 6'2, anything taller than that is circus territory.

Ganes: I put a few hours into Control earlier. It's pretty good fun, despite making absolutely no sense. The dialogue and story have a Deadly Premonition feel, which is quite pleasing.

It does worry me that Tiddles, the Lad and I all live in the same city.
I assume Sheep and Shenguin share the same problem, and have to coordinate their lives accordingly so they never have to fight to become champion of Birmingham.

Look, they've already sorted this when Shenguin moved away/was banned from Birmingham. Consult the damn spreadsheet, what's the point of having it if you don't update your copy.
