I think what we can conclude from this investigation is that people are taller the further north you go, and, by extension, the more fried food you were fed as a child. Take that, 'science'.

Maybe it will be better to get in early with rhe virus. Book a hospital bed before they become triple stacked.

We'll stick that in a footnote with all the other so-called data, hopefully nobody will notice.

Chumbles Well I've thought and have a keyboard. I can't give you any advice. All I can do is relate my experience in similar circumstances. I've had friends who I wanted to help in the same way and I can say I have 100% failure rate. What I thought they deserved is fine but what I thought they wanted has never been true. People are awkward bastards who don't understand what is good for them. I now live by Keith Waterhouse's Maggie Muggins. "Friends don't give advice; they just pick them up, dust them down and help them on their way"* As to your question about doing harm, I'd say no, though I strongly disagree that their opinion is not relevant. <edit>*I can see that some people might think that this is advocating watching people spiral down, I'm assuming that people here understand I'm not talking about such terrible circumstances.

Hi
Waited in all day for two deliveries. One was an arranged Royal Mail re-delivery of an ebay order. Watched the postman go past the house around 1pm. No parcel.
Received an email at 5pm from ebay saying the parcel was recorded as delivered at 12.59pm. RM Track and Trace confirmed the same thing.
Rang RM who say they are investigating it with the Delivery Office and will be speaking to the postie;
The second was an Amazon delivery. Got a GPS map around 10.30am estimating delivery between 10.45am and 2.45 pm and saying the driver was 4 stops away. Watched on and off for the next 8 hours as he flitted about the local area. Message changed to 'The driver has a few more deliveries before he gets to you..'
Parcel eventually delivered after 6pm.
What a waste of a day.

The parcel from ebay was 5 Edwardian/Victorian crystal port/sherry glasses. A present for Mrs D. I'm guessing the postman dropped it at some point and threw it in a skip while pretending to have re-delivered it. Bastard.

Clearly it's Royal Mail's Trainee Postie Day. Have you checked with the neighbours for your parcel?
I cannot tell you how many hours I've wasted loitering near the front door when the stupid Amazon app was telling me that 'the driver is only x stops away', only for the GPS to stop working and having the parcel delivered at dinner time. It is a part of modern life that we need to calculate the risk of missing a delivery when going to the bathroom.

A 'neighbour' (someone I've never seen before, i.e. not a near neighbour), has just brought round a package with a Something for you' note saying 'In Blue Top Bin'.
Obviously postie went to the wrong house, got no reply, put the parcel in the recycling bin and pushed a note through his letter box. Given that tomorrow is bin day we're lucky it didn't end up at the tip.

Though I like the idea that a "neighbour" has to be someone you've seen.

Gamesblog - that there DQB2, and I set forth to erect a building in a very tall place i.e. the tallest mountain I could find. I used a blueprint that I produced from one of the special-buildings you find on islands. Despite being so high up, a few residents found the blueprint and set forth building it for me with the materials I provided. But by the look of things, they've given up midway through. And it hasn't register as a building in a tall place. 🙄 Yes. The tall place building task. I went through a lot of trouble to built myself a nice log cabin in the mountains. It was definitely in a very tall place. It didn't count towards the objective. So I asked YouTube and learnt that it needs to be the absolutely highest point and then some. Found a nearby mountain top that was the highest (in the area near the Green Gardens waterfall), added a few more layers for good measure, put a small square two blocks high with a door in it on top, and bingo. It's completely useless otherwise, but it counts. And yes, I've also observed that with blueprint building projects the residents sometimes lose interest. I had to put the finishing touches on my chapel with my own fair hands. Well, who can blame them.
