Something discovered today is that all Energy suppliers have a statutory obligation to give disabled customers 3 weeks notice of any planned service disruption and have to reconnect us first... they may also offer 'inspections' from 'partners'... I didn't take up the latter. The sales rep promised it would be exclusively that. Yeah, sure... And finally I got my electrician to make safe my outside light and commit to replacing it this Saturday ... I'm shattered. Felice Landry: I had a thang for Willow, pretty, redhead, clever... I've watched all of Buffy and Angel. Best season of both - Angel S1. S1E9 is heartachingly brilliant but upset me so much I nearly stopped watching. Now it's much worse knowing that 3 years later, Glenn Quinn (Doyle), homeless by then, died of a heroine overdose. I'm really tired and listening to the banana skin game for my team, after having suffered the "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" game last night, sleep is more attractive |

I've just done the maths on this. I used to do the stats on asylum claims, so between 2000-10 there would be approx 550,000 in-country claims in total. You can all string me up by my balls for this statement, maybe the ONS does not agree. I do not care. |

In 2017 she was involved in a political scandal involving unauthorised meetings with the Government of Israel, ending her tenure as International Development Secretary. She is so right wing she's close to being an out and out fascist. I hate bullies and she is one. What a cluster of unprincipled people BoJo has gathered...

Priti Patel does have one thing going for her: she genuinely makes me question my white male perspective and the ways in which I am racist and misogynistic. I genuinely hate her, feel a visceral violent anger towards her. Every time, I have to question whether that is an acceptable reaction to her personality, words and actions. I have to measure it against my hatred for her white male counterparts, and check that it isn't based even slightly on her gender or ethnicity.
Of course, this is made more difficult because each hated person is hated in their own unique way (as Anna Karenina didn't say). She combines the pig-idiot thickness and cowardice of Gavin Williamson, with the nastiness of Donald Trump, and the bleak moral-emptiness of Jeremy Hunt. She’s quite uniquely hateful, but then they each are, in their different ways.
In the reckoning as it stands, I do not know whether I should be convinced by my own attempts to entirely dispel subconscious bias. I am not able to honestly swear that some of the profound depth of my hatred for the pigfuck is not infected in some unintended way with racism or misogyny. I can, at least, be sure I am doing my absolute best to hate the slugcunt for what she does and says, not for the accidents of her birth.
In comparison, my hatred for Cummings is deliciously simple. |
