First DogI absolutely love him. He is the best. I don't get their art. But then I'm a mucking foron.

All I can say is Dougie came to us when he wasn't good enough for Shrewsbury. He was ok, but his knees had gone. It was almost literally walking football at times.
We had him, an ancient Des Bremner and a load of young players. We were genuinely awful. We couldn't even play long ball as our keeper couldn't kick it far enough. Genuinely he struggled to reach the closest edge of the centre circle with goal kicks. We used to go a goal down early. On a good day we'd rally in the second half and maybe score. Then immediately concede, usually twice. I didn't go to many away games. I think the first was 1980. I didn't see us win one until 1991.
There's a small group of us who were at the Swindon home game three days after Hillsborough. We'd just got relegated with 6 games left. 4,026 our lowest crowd since WW1. In a ground that could hold over 50,000. It was like being at a funeral. We lost of course.
Great times though. The worse we got the more I wanted to go. Despite everything I managed to become completely obsessed.

First DogI absolutely love him. He is the best. I don't get their art. But then I'm a mucking foron. It's not really about the drawings. It's more the sentiment. He is a straight down the line liberal wuss. I can't get enough of it. Not just today, all of them. I do not understand why, and I am not entirely pleased by it, but I just find his cartoons sympathetic. This was well before COVID as well. It is not some sort of viral infection. It does worry me that I might feel something other than disgust.

I played a lot of violent video games in my childhood - Yie Ar Kung Fu, Way of the Exploding Fist, Commando, Horace and the Spiders. It's a miracle I'm such a well adjusted and mature adult. I used to watch Horace get run over repeatedly for hours. Not deliberately you understand. I loved the little guy. He taught me all I know about crossing roads safely. Now I understand why the Green cross man became Darth Vader, there goes my childhood!

I'm watching something called 'The Platform' on Netflix. It's making me hungry. Four stars. Hungry for a turd in the face?

Hullo. I have survived the ordeal. The only notable point was in the bank, when I took one step towards the Customer Services lady, only for her to shout 'Stay Back!' and raise her hands in a blocking motion. I was only 3 metres 9.84252 feet away from her.
Farcical, much like my face etc..

Afternoon 'boxers. Sainsbury's in Mere Gree / Four Oaks have implemented a queueing system for entry now, which made my lunchtime trip up there a complete waste of time. Will attempt to go late tomorrow evening in the vain hope there are some cleaning and canned items available, which is pretty much all I need for the remainder of this week because my cleaners can't come and clean so I have to go buy stuff so I can do it myself. And canned food when I can't be bothered to eat cereal in the evening. Missed yesterday's sweet mechanical keyboard chat. I am the extremely proud (and apparently annoying AF on conf calls when I forget to go on mute) owner of a Corsair K63 with cherry switches and red led backlighting (which can be switched off). It is noisy AF but so satisfying to type on. Pretty cheap too when I picked it up. Digital Foundry are often found to tweet gaming (mechanical) keyboard deals, there was a good one yesterday should you care to look it up. Games: Dinobots. Doing the Frozen Wilds bandit camp side quest and pigment side quest to progress the main quest. I really struggle with the hunter lodge challenges. OTTM: People really are cunts.

Other than to annoy folk what are the reasons to get a mechanical keybaord for games?

Other than to annoy folk what are the reasons to get a mechanical keybaord for games? They are more reliable in terms of the press of the finger tip registering.

It took about 20 minutes to queue in yesterday. Don't go too late. I think it shuts at 8pm.

A feisty old broad shouldn't deter the correctly equipped robber from going lawfully about his business.

No more Asking Jack. RIP in peace Jack Schofield. Ah man. Gutting. I liked Jack. he was always a kind journalist. One of the first to go below the line as well. He used to actually reply and take people seriously. Well weird. I am sure I had more than one online chat with him. Unfortunately the G has lost a lot of the 2003-2010 posts. They have disappeared. He recommended some grat sci-fi. John Brunner - The Sheep Look Up and Stand On Zanzibar. Some other stuff as well David Brinn I think. He also employed Keef, Greg and Aleks at the Guardian.

Ah, bugger. At least he got to see the Chatterbox hurled into the Cracks of Doom and so, at last, it was unmade and its evil consumed.

At what point during this WFH regime is it acceptable to start having a dry martini at 3pm, in lieu of a chocolate digestive?

At what point during this WFH regime is it acceptable to start having a dry martini at 3pm, in lieu of a chocolate digestive? Anything after midday is respectable as far as I am concerned. Although the way I feel right now, not drinking at 7am is considered a small victory.
