Hi
No gaming last night, but did claim my 'free' January PS plus games for PS4, in advance of February's offering. This included Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness which, though less of a game and more an interactive anime novel, looks interesting. I'll probably give it a go.
That's it. That's all I've got.

Morning all,
Monster Hunter and Overwatch are my current go-to games. Wielding a big poison chopper in Monster hunter at the moment.

I was a bit down on Monster Hunter until I made it to the third area, its pretty special. Theres also a lot of new monsters that are fun to fight. Its possibly a bit too easy but hopefully it gets tougher later on.
I've mostly be wielding a massive sword or the Toby Maguire (the hairy electric man) charge blade.

Morning, my company haven't even had the decency to make me redundant yet. And now apparently there's a possibility that the project I'm working on might actually limp on a bit for sectional completion. Which is both good and bad.
Yesterday I played a bit more AssCreedO.

The third area is lovely looking. I need to get on and explore it as I've only just gained access. The electric squirrel thing was an utter bastard in the forest.

I see Scubar has already incurred the wrath of the mods on the Monster Hunter review over at the other place.
Attaboy.

That was one of the quests where I killed the wrong monster first (killed the one that knocks you off the rock when you first arrive) then ran out of time to kill the proper one. I really should pay more attention to names. Edit: Sorry, got a little confused there. The quest I got lost in was the cotton wool ball flying thing.

Along with some Anja farming.

I'm struggling to remember what it was I actually said.
I'm guessing I was asserting my strongly held belief that Super Tennis, is in fact a game.

Morning all, Fallout - the settlements idea is neat-o until you find yourself spending time increasingly repelling attacks. No idea how to get the 100% happy trophy either, even with full employment, beds and shops I would get 80-85% max. Then sometimes I'd see a settlement at 40% happiness, go there and everyone had somehow reassigned themselves to unemployment. Must admit i'm not seeing many random attacks recently..... maybe a bug, but I found if I take one of Garveys reinforce/help/protect settlement missions, do the mission but don't go back to Garvey to hand it in.... a - he doesn't give you any more similar missions b - I don't seem to get the random 'settlement under attack' anywhere near as often*
*The law of sod says I will log on tonight and find them all under attack now I've said that

Never mind Monster Hunter, there is a whole article on the music page about Toto's 'Africa'. Has to be one of the greatest songs of all time.

I read that if the defence rating of a settlement is higher than the food/water score you are largely safe. Early on I had a few attacks at Sanctuary (one over the bridge and the other from where the Vault is). Set up a few turrets and it was a turkeyshoot.
There were a few settlements which seem blighted by unhappiness, (the one with the ghouls and the swimming pool in particular). It was initially quite fun until you started wondering why you were doing it. I think this is a good test for games with this function built into them. At the weekend I spent a couple of hours getting a new house built in Skyrim.
It serves no narrative purpose and there's no great advantage to doing this, but the "why?" aspect doesn't occur as much. It seems more stark and obvious in Fallout 4, more of an obvious thing to include for the sake of it. That's why Skryim has a hook in me, not because it does anything much better but it hides the 'Why are you doing this?" better.

It was reading about the Sim Settlements mod that got me back into thinking about the options for better settlements. I want to get as far as I can unmodded though before playing with any mods as it will probably bork my save games if I try and mod it now.
