I can't remember who it was, maybe a poster here, but it was stated the eagles in LOTD could have just dropped the ring off at Mount Doom. I think they had a point, as even though the Wraiths were airborne there were only 9 of them. I think it is assumed that was Gandalf's plan. Get as close as possible for a short flight time. Then get a couple of eagles to take him and Frodo & Sam to drop off the ring. It's not made clear what the plan was in the book. I've read quite a few different theories over the years. Maybe this is a good place to regurgitate them? |

All this lockdown is bad for me. I have listened to lots of new music and bought too much of it.
Some filling in gaps as well.
I'm also downloading hundreds of NIN live concerts.
I've also discovered I can get as many Depeche Mode concerts as I want. That might be nil. It might be 500.
I quite like DM once they got over the electropop stage.

I My friend experimented with soft drugs in a non scientific way. No control group. No placebos. Didn't record results properly. Some pretty strong theories. |

There was one clear result of my friends's experiments .
That is never take strawberry* flavoured snuff**. Never.
It is the most ill advised thing ever.
Snuff gets you pretty high for about 30 seconds. Its nothing like smoking. The trouble is 30 seconds later it seems like a good idea to try some more. Especially as my friend was quite drunk and being assisted down the road to perdition by an overly enthusiastic accomplice.
My friend woke up the following morning with a terrible hangover (not snuff induced) and the smell of artificial strawberry flavour stuck in his nose for 48 hours. It was properly awful Like breathing through angel delight while feeling sick. So I'm told.
Then there is the sneezing. The sneezing is not great. It's not a very refined habit. I am sure it is not at all attractive to sit round a table in a pub sneezing like plague vctims.
Four stars: Would recommend trying once
* other flavours may not be so bad. My friend does not know and has no desire to find out. Any artificial fruit tasting hangover seems unappealing
** snuff is not technically illegal, but should be.
