Absent a vaccine, 60 - 80% of the population are likely to get COVID-19 eventually, the only question is about the speed and the ability of health services to cope with the worst cases.
If a vaccine is developed, Mongolia's strategy looks brilliant. If COVID-19 continues to circulate and mutate over several years (or decades), Mongolia's strategy looks ostrich-like, or, worse, a deeply brutal and unprecedented level of long-term control over the day-to-day freedoms of its populous.I'm not sure it's unprecedented. Mongolia had a particularly brutal Communist government. Even by Mongolian standards. Plus you know zero deaths as opposed to 62,000+ Sure they've fucked their economy, but we've fucked our population and our economy. So we win? Even if there is no vaccine there is likely to be mitigation that can be practised. Didn't say we were winning, but if one didn't care about the deaths and suffering, yeah, the UK might have managed to less fuck the economy medium term than would have otherwise been the case, maybe, depending, perhaps. I'm not saying I think this was the right approach. I think we fucked it. |

Thanks Tent - *shameface* I had 580 this morning - had my island open to all - and made 70k in tax I’m now mortgage free and have six million bells in the bank. I’ve been wanting to do some rock farming and move the rock spawn points to my ‘zen’ garden - I think now is the time to do it. I’m close to giving up on the rest of the game - time to move on. I have seen tutorials for moving the rocks and am quite tempted to try it myself but on my island there are more pressing issues. The last Animal Crossing game I played every day for 5 years. One of my last achievements was finishing the art collection - there was one painting that for years I never saw the genuine version of, so today's revelation that one can buy from Redd as a visitor is a game changer. I have also paid off my mortgage but I still need a lot of Bells for infrastructure and moving things around. Also, for me Animal Crossing has always been about collecting all the furniture and all the clothing and I'm obviously a long way away from that objective. I'm currently busy with the wedding photos on Harv's island and getting all new June critters and fishes. There's never enough time. My guess is that further extensions of the house are going to be a thing in future because the side rooms are awfully small compared to the fully upgraded house in New Leaf, which was also more expensive. I think they are probably doing this to make sure that people are pacing themselves because this has always been a game one should stick with for at least a year. You haven't played AC properly if you haven't seen all seasons. |

Vtheres a big sale on the swir h eshop again. Might have to get mudrunner (trucks souls previous incarnation).

I've really enjoyed this series of KE, I like the move to more personal stuff, as much as I enjoy Villanelle's inventive murder after S2 they needed to move to more story and fewer show stopper scenes, still lots of plot holes but what the hell. |
