I've finished ripping my cds and uploading them to google. It was a full time job for a few weeks and now I have no idea what to do with myself. I don't know how to do the vinyl, and can't be bothered anyway. I've bought a Sonos speaker, arriving Monday, to stream my shuffle-all megamixes and finally destroy what's left of my relationships with my family and neighbours. 4 stars. I keep putting my rip off, daft thing to do I know as now is the best time to rip. I've tried to rip my vinyl before now and I always seem to get the sound balance wrong, it makes Iron Maiden sound like Pinky and perky on acid. Yeehaw top of page 2!

I bought a special ADC device which allows me to rip from my audio system to Audacity. It's Pretty good. Mostly you can only tell it's from a record if there is a click.
Takes a while to record stuff but worth it. I absolutely need to be occasionally able to listen to Carter USM b sides.

If you've a lot of vinyl it might be worth buying a decent usb card - maybe even an old serato interface from eBay and then reselling it. There's a decent AudioTechnica deck with usb out as well.
If you have no worries about stealing or buying software then Adobe Audition is incredible. It has plugins that will remove clicks and pops generally without messing up the sound too much.

Games: no OTTM: I've been upgrading my display case with extra shelves, that way I can display, or using the technical term "show off", many more of my award winning models.

What do you not need when setting up smart devices, lights and plugs... I really do think I'm becoming like Job, but I am bloody glad I have a decent UPS - it just paid for itself. Yer average fusebox won't catch a transient spike from a bolt hitting your substation (all the lights flickered and the cutout on the UPS clonked), but it was really really loud. Like giants chucking spears made of light and boulders rolling up after the flashes of light.

This for me is good going. Since 2001 I have painted Frodo and Legolas.....then restarted last year with Witchking on Fell Beast and Theoden.

My Sonos speaker thing arrived early. It is tremendous. I can now stream terrible music at high volumes to my heart's content. Thanks for tips on vinyl, crankcaller and Sheep2. I am probably going to leave it for now as I don't even have anything as cool as Carter USM b-sides worth adding to the digital archive.

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but maybe he's run out of beer? I know one shouldn't immediately assume the worst.

Morning all.
Jeff listening in to every word? No thank you. Why would I want that, when I can walk over to the CD hifi, plug it in at the wall, select a Compact Disc to play, open the disc tray, put it in the disc tray, close the disc tray, and press play?
Gamesblog: Skyrim! With mods! I appear to have installed one that turns vibrancy up by a million percent. It is garish. Oh, and the minor "cities" now look more city-like, rather than being a collection of stone huts. Not sure if that makes the game better, as it definitely made my attempts at leaving Falkreath very difficult. I'm playing a Wood Elf with a penchant for magic... but should probably have gone with another one of the Elfen-types so that my magic skill was high to start with. Oh well.

Morning.
Gamesbog: I think you know by now. The Jackdaw went to investigate a mysterious island, only to find a Man-o-War parked up nearby. It was thought to be beached and therefore deserted, it wasn't. Due to the Captain's skill and tenacity (running away) the Jackdaw survived, despite being mortared to within an inch of it's life.
Music chat: I tend to burn CDs onto my elderly Xbox, but mostly use youtube.*
*Sennheiser headphones, of course. I don't want to upset the neighbours.

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but maybe he's run out of beer? I know one shouldn't immediately assume the worst. Oh don't say something so horrible Tent Hen. He might just have been kidnapped by Toolio and be hogtied in a dungeon. I for one hope he's ok and hasn't run out of beer.
