Morning all,
Weekend was spent gaming and reading a couple of very interesting papers on an eclipse which was mentioned in the Iliad and Odyssey. Using Nasa's online catalogue these can be set to a time and date. Speculative fun.
More AC Odyssey. Levelling up way too fast which means level 25 'amazing hammer of pootle' is out-statted by common level 28 feather boa.
I'm also irked by those stingy Greeks. Leaving a few coins in an undisturbed tomb of a hero, for shame. They were obviously on the take.

Morning
More AC Odd. Finally far enough to go Cultist hunting, and going to spend a bit of time getting my ship as good as possible. Picked up a nifty spear, and raided a couple of tombs. My favourite skill is still the kick, it’s the absolute best. I’ve cleared whole ships with it before.

The kick is amazing, the Hero Strike is very handy once you unlock it.

I’ve got the Hero Strike, and can also now critically assassinate people. I’ve been given the mission to take out the boar, might do that soon too.

Morning all.
I fancied watching a classic war film last night, to get away from the dread and horror of reality. So I watched "Run Silent, Run Deep". What I was actually after was "Above Us the Waves", but I enjoyed it nonetheless. 4*
TVblog: none.
Gamesblog: Skyrim. Thoroughly enjoying going full-mage. It's actually an option when you have over 200 magicka from the start - less chance of it running out on you mid-dust-up. I may have to find a "invincible follower" mod though, as twin-blasts of fire do tend to catch ol' Faendal whilst in combat.

Ah, I see. I left off upgrading the spear which wasn't a great idea as it increases adrelanine segments and damage.
The boar fight is horrible. I cheesed it using the ledge at the back of the cave.
They've either patched it alot or I remember it all differently as the bow is far less effective. I find spears, clubs and any 2hander much more effective in this playthrough. To use daggers you need to get up close, in most fights the heavier weapons hit more than one person, break the guard and might knock someone of a wall or similar.
Might be that I am playing it on a higher difficulty level than normal though.

Lovely.

All this AC odd chat makes me want to start it properly. But first I need to finish GTA story mode as I'm determined to do so. Was waylaid slightly by double points stunt races.
Games. Stunt races in GTA:online. Mooching in AC:NH
TV. Some comedy on Amazon prime that was supposed to be great and wasn't. So instead we watched the Thick of it.

Morning
Quiet weekend?
Games The only game in town is Fortnite. I am determined to get to two things. 1) KDR of 2 in solo games 2) Average of 2 kills a game If you knock of the first 180 games I am averaging well over 2 kills a game. I had more win over the weekend. These included a tremendous duos win where after Shenguin died I played cautiously yet aggressively. When there were 4 of us left I could see one was crawling. I killed his killer, finished the crawler off and did in his mate in quick succession. It was very pleasing.
Books Truth is a Difficult Concept Inside the Scott Inquiry Alright it is an old book about Tory scandals. I had forgotten just what shits they were (and are). I miss the days when the bastards were evilly competent. The Scott Inquiry was great fun back in the 1990s. Recommended.
TV Killing Eve I've watched all 3 series in the last 2 weeks. It is pretty good. Could do with more lesbian nudity.

Football
Pep Clotet is leaving the manager's job at Birmingham at the end of the season. Disappointing. I liked him. He was a reasonable manager and very nice. I understand it is due to not wanting to work in a separate country from his family. I can understand this. He was trapped in the UK while his mum had Covid-19 in Spain.
God I miss the football. I watched 3 German football matches, but they are not the same.

It's quite cold out.
Videogames: Nope
Telly: The second new Jurasic Park film, which was terrible.

I quite enjoyed Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom It had a volcano and dinosaurs. What is not to like?
Well the plot and the acting obviously, but you don't watch the 5th film in a franchise for plot or acting. I mean it was objectively terrible, but I liked it.
Four stars. Recommended

Morning fellow Homs!
Games - truck souls - drove around to some watch towers. TB. Also bought the older switch version, but yet to play it.
And... Monster train. Tremendous stuff. Its like Slay the spire but good.
Also cleaned the flat some, and had a well deserved Sunday evening drink afterwards.
I’m considering getting mobile and working from a nearby park, but I’m worried it would be short lived as I’d need to piss after about an hour and I don’t fancy pissing in the bushes for fear of whom I mightest run into (London)

I thought I would have a herd post Games: What little time I have spare from chores and Alexa (I suppose we could call these smartening my home... unfortunately I'm unable to Smarten my brain) I'm spending on: Neptune's Pride 2: 2 x slow-paced 2h per move - in the first I'm blocked in by my ally, the 1st place guy, who's fighting the CrazedFerret (2nd), and Dickwood* (4th) and NO warpgates so I have to support him or become FerretWood's next victim; the second game I'm 11th out of 16, early days yet. I bet you're impressed - it's my own fault for setting up high quality games. *What fuckwit chooses that as an alias... (oh, sorry Mr R Wood - I once had a lodger (Ms Dover) whose ex-husband wanted to name their daughter Eileen. I mean, really?)Diplomacy: 4 gunboat games on vDip where I'm getting my nuts cracked in 3 and a certain draw in the 4th. I'm 2nd out of 5 in that, but finagling a win is nigh on impossible - the 3rd place guy is certain to chuck the game to the first place guy if I attack him. But I can and will bump off 4th and 5th to slim the draw *sigh*... Perversely on webDip I'm playing a blinderRome (13 centres, 2 builds to come) in a normal game of Ancient Mediterranean (2 days a phase) and Greece (12 centres, 2 builds to come) is my erstwhile ally. He's been a naughty boy, tipping a bloody annoying Carthage off to some of my moves, hence some of my armies rushing back to ensure he doesn't do that Greek horsey thing... and no, Greece, of course I am not mug enough to let you into the Libyan Sea. Cunt. Age of Wonders 3: Duennú (High Elf, Theocrat... see current avatar) ... I'm breezing this, but it's a long climb from level 1 to 7 when she gets Convert. Now, she and her Evangelists are wholesale converting our enemies, when her Storm Maidens don't kill them first - they are so OP they only have to breathe on the barstools and they disappear in a crackle of lightning. But the real killer is the Dark Angel - very hard to snare. She is a real horror as her scream petrifies most level 1 or 2 units - she's not happy being controlled by Duennú - but I'd rather she was on our side than not TV: And I really really have no t ime for TV apart from Britannia which can be spine-chilling, and a little Justified when eating ...
Otherwise: going through the monthly lunacy of ordering my repeat prescriptions (12 items) and waiting for Amazon to deliver stuff which is not the cheapo Chinese crap in my bin...
There are literally millions of Chinese citizens** who can read and write near perfect English, so why do Chinese manufacturers get their manuals written by Yoda writing in a strange pidgin language I can only assume is Chinglish. And why in poorly printed minute script that requires 1800 lumen lighting, 2x reading glasses and a magnifying glass, plus the mind of a crossword solver to deduce anything that might be of use?
**I guess they're all regarded as dangerous or are in their secret service, the 中华人民共和国国家安全部, who doubtless make up some of our 'guests'... 👋👲 Oh, and if you are reading this thanks for allowing the continuance of 'wet' markets you dildos.
